Love live comedy as much as going to concerts. Seen Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope, Ralphie May, Lisa Lampanelli, Gabriel Iglesias + a bunch of smaller shows the past year or so.

Coming to the Improv's in So Cal just in the next month - Dave Attel, Aries Spears, Carlos Mencia, Jeff Ross, Pablo Francisco, Ian Bagg, etc. Anybody seen these guys live? Worth it?

I won free tickets to see Carlos Mencia about six months ago. I didn't know anything about him other than Joe Rogan accused him of stealing material a few years back. I laughed my ### off for the entire show.

i wish i would have seen mitch hedberg when that brohan was still alive he was the best i saw him on comedy central and then tried to see where he was but bam it was too late so see them when you can because man it seems like a lot of teh good ones do not stick around as long as they should sadly take that to the bank brohans

Oh, Is this the thread where the OP wants info on a specific list of comics that will be in his area and then we list a bunch of other comics that may dead or playing at a club 4 hours away 6 months from now?

Pablo Fransico is hysterical. He NEVER updates his set though. Seeing him twice is stupid... but definitely worth seeing once.

I'm going to see the guy who wore the stupid hats on 30 Rock Saturday night in DC... Judah Freidlander... any idea if he's any good. Not sure what to expect, but I generally love the Improv.

95% of the time I've seen a comedian it's been great.

Comedy shows that are NOT good that I've seen:

-Saw Richard Lewis and it was AWFUL.

-Saw the dad from Full House... once the novelty of him cursing a lot wore off, he wasn't funny.

Everyone else has been great. Its pretty hard to go wrong with a comedy club.

Whoops. I didn't realize he was asking from the list of people. I thought those were people he saw already.

From that list, Dave Attell is a must see, in my opinion.

i would like to go to a roast i think that would be pretty awesome but i have never been i almost thought about going to one for the score in chicago which is the best sports channell in milwaukee sadly but on the plus side when the bears lose baffone and bravadovich are awesome i think they want to always fight with the team and fire everyone who has a job in all of illinois love those fibs but anyhow a roast would be good especially one of the big ones because you would get to see a whole bunch of people and then if one stunk up the joint you would still have a bunch of chances for someone to be awesome take that to the variety is the spice of funny life bank brohans

Jim Jefferies will be in San Diego on May 30. I saw him a few weeks ago and it was the best set I've ever heard live.

Just saw Anthony Jeselnik for the first time, worth every penny if you like his style (I do, maybe my current favorite comedian at the moment). Going to Aziz in May, one of my/wife's favorites on XM, hope he's almost as good as Jeselnik. Wife wanted to see Amy Schumer, just missed her show though because of the night she was in town here.

Well, I may have just screwed up. Jeselnik was at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza on 3/31. I can walk there. Aziz is playing Sunday night in Santa Barbara. Was thinking about scoring tickets, but I'd have to score a bunch because my college age kids would want to go. Schumer is one I want to see. Just watched the last episode of Inside Amy Schumer and man the fun she pokes at herself is awesome.

I'm in So Cal. They all come here eventually. So keep 'em coming. I saw Jim Jeffries at the same Canyon Club too. Reminds me of a gig this weekend at the Shrine:

There are still some great seats left for Kevin & Bean’s April Foolishness 2014, taking place THIS SATURDAY at the Shrine Auditorium. The show will feature performances by comedians Jim Jefferies, Patton Oswalt, Adam Carolla, Tim Minchin, Doug Benson, Eddie Ifft, Taylor Williamson, and DJ Mike Relm.

I just watched "Inside Amy Schumer" for the first time the other night and I thought it was a yawn fest. However, I love her stand up acts. Also, her Charlie Sheen roast was pretty funny (mostly the part where she destroys Tyson)

Sry Judge, if this thread was last week I would have told you to go if you didn't have anything else going on that night...

Jeselnik is the only comedian I have ever been disappointed with live. I love his comedy, but I saw him a year or so ago soon after Comedy Central premiered one of his specials, and probably half of his jokes were from that, with another quarter of his jokes from various other things I've seen or heard from him. Most of his jokes are one liners or very short stories, so I see why he reuses jokes, but it was disappointing.

From your list, I'd check out Attell (seem him before -- he brings the funny) and Ross (who I haven't seen, but generally find him entertaining).

Not from your list and I'm not sure if he still tours due to Alvin and the Chipmunks royalties but David Cross is usually funny as ####

Wife and I saw her in February in Atlanta. She was great, and the two openers she had were pretty good as well.

Going to see Bill Burr this Saturday, and Dave Chappelle this Monday. Both shows are at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.

Scored a pair of Chappelle tickets from a local radio station for free, and just bought tickets to Burr's recently added second show for Saturday. I didn't even know he was coming here til earlier tonight. I was surprised there were a few tickets left (maybe 20 total).

Saw Chappelle once back in 07 or so in Orlando...so awesome...never seen Burr. Super stoked for both shows.

Saw Birbiglia in St Pete a few months ago, such a great show. Before that, the last comedian I saw was Louis CK in Orlando about 3 years ago.

So after Monday, the list of the last four comedians I saw live will be Louis, Birbiglia, Burr, and Chappelle...that's a murderers row of current comedians right there.

Nice list. Burr is freaking hilarious.

The best live comedy shows that I've seen in the past year are Hannibal Buress, Aziz Ansari, and Louis CK. They were all incredibly hilarious.

Some really good ones in here, on the flip side went to an Eddie Izzard show a whlie back and was really disappointed, would avoid.
