This is also posted in Asst Coach but I wanted the true IDP guys to wiegh in on this!!!!

Here's my situation:

I have both Will Smith and Jared Allen as RFA's and I can Tag one of them to limit their movement this offseason.

Will Smith already has a 4th round comp

Jared Allen has 2nd comp.

I can tag either one and add a 1st to the required payback.

We can start either 2 or 3 DE's

My other DE's are:

Julius Peppers

Mark Anderson

Gaines Adams

Who would you guys Tag?

Do you think anyone will pay a 2nd ronder for Allen?

I really only want to keep one of these guys.

You have some nice DE's! I would think an owner is more likely to give up a 4 for Smith than a 2 for Allen. But ... I don't have experience is this type of format.

You definitly need to tag W. Smith. Since he is worth only a 4th, you don't want to give him up for that. The odds are obvisouly better that someone will bid on W. Smith before bidding on J. Allen since he costs a 2nd. TAG W. Smith, and let J. Allen ride. If someone bids on him, let him go and take the 2nd rounder. You have enough DL depth.

yes we are allowed to draft ncaa players in our rookie draft.

I have Kenny Irons, Dwayne Jarrett and Gaines Adams.

The first pick in our rookie draft last year was Brady Quinn!!!!

FYI- Jared Allen just got sentenced for a second DUI while he was still on probation for his first DUI. I'd suspect a suspension is to follow.

What is it with Missouri defensive ends and DUI's?
