Which is more important in choosing D/ST? (1 Viewer)

If you are inclined to stream defenses and are looking for that weekly defense, which factor is more important to consider, the quality of the defense you are choosing or the matchup (going up against poor offense)?  I wonder if anybody has done a statistical study on this...please pick one in the poll...

If you are going the streaming route then by definition you are playing the matchups and that is far more important than the quality of the defense you are choosing.  If you want to make quality of the defense the most important factor then you aren't streaming and are obtaining a defense because they are matchup proof (in most cases).

so what if I have the option to pick up the 16th best defense in my league going against the 11th best matchup OR the 7th best defense up against the 12th best matchup, u are saying i choose the first option as i simply ignore the quality of the defense?

If you're talking about the 11th place vs 12th place, either in terms of matchup or quality of defense, then it's a a coin flip.  Especially since things usually follow a bell curve, the clump in the middle (say, 9-24) are all pretty much the same.  You're looking for the outliers - 25th or worse on the bad side, 8th or better on the good side.
