Which of the "Fab Five" Has the Better Week... (1 Viewer)

These kids are fun to watch, have loads of talent, and are all emerging as viable - dare I say dynamic - options in their respective offenses. All should be productive this weekend. Here's how I'd rank them for the week:

Austin vs ATL

Nicks vs AZ

Manningham vs AZ

Collie @ STL

Maclin @ WAS

I think Austin is the real deal and will go off for at least 100 yrds and a TD - maybe 2. Cowboys are at home and will have to keep up with Ryan, Turner, White, Gonzo & crew. I think Romo keeps feeding Austin the ball until he gives him a reason not to.

Nicks and Mario should each have productive outings at home in what should be a shootout vs AZ. I'm predicting a floor of 90/1 for Nicks and 75/1 for Mario.

Collie should have a nice day vs STL, although I see most of the receiving production going to Wayne and Clark. Let's say 80 yrds with a better than 50% shot at a TD

Maclin probably has the toughest start of the group in WAS. The Eagles offense sputtered last week in OAK and McNabb needs to get back on track. I'm predicting 75 receiving yrds for Maclin and also a decent shot at a TD.

Please discuss....

i'm sorry, is there something that makes these guys the "fab five" (other than them being on your team, perhaps)? first i've heard that nickname for this particular collection of WRs.

What if we changed the thread name to: Which of the "Last Five Waiver Wire WR Flavors Of The Week" Has the Better Week...AustinCollieNicksMaclinManningham

Nicknames have to start somewhere. I mean, we ain't born with them. They have all exceeded expectations and have probably saved the bacon for many of us in a game or two. If someone wants to give them a name, it's fine with me.

Lets assume that many of us have one or two of these guys. And let's also assume that many of us thanks to the great inside info here also have MSW who is off this week. Let's also assume that some of us have Steve Smith of Carolina. Do any of us have the guts to sit him for one of the "Fab Five?"

Good question. In fact I do have Steve Smith as well as Nicks and Austin. So, right now I've got 2/5 of the "Fab Five" in my starting lineup (along wiht Welker). Love both of their matchups. However, I've been holding onto Smitty all season waiitng for the breakout. I'm hearing good things out of Carolina practice this week between Smitty and Delhomme. Also, it seems the BUF secondary is banged up. Hmmmmm......

I think you should change "Austin" to "Miles" so as to avoid confusion between him and "Collie".

ETA: I'm pretty sure that string of his words has never been, nor will it ever again be, uttered - spoken, written, typed or otherwise.

I've Collie and Maclin. I think I can cross Maclin off but Collie is intriguing. There is some good info on Smith over on this thread page 4 http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...0&start=150Some good insight by Bills and Panthers fans. Although now I'm confused even more LOL.

No mention of Harvin or Britt? I know Britt is on a bye this week so mentioning him for the better score this week is out but he should be included in the group. Which brings us to what? 8?

Nicks

Knox

Britt

Harvin

Mario

Collie

Maclin

Austin

As for the guy that asked why to start Knox? Well, Cinci has shut down the top receiver in ever game except for the Texans game. Presumably that means Hester is not going to be open. That leaves Knox out there. I'm starting him in a couple of leagues, Hicks in another (hoping for a shootout with Zona) and considering Collie against my lowly Lambs...

I've got S. Smith and Nicks, and as of now am benching S. Smith. Delhomme is clearly not in a groove, and until he is, I can't waste a starting spot on 1 catch for 4 yards.

That is misleading. He has scored a TD in 4 straight weeks, but not caught. One of the TD's was a kick off return. I like Knox, but he doesn't get enough targets. Not enough production. I like him for years to come though. I had him but traded him and Hester for Ray Rice.

Like the guy above mentioned. I'll take Knox over all of them
Why Knox? I wasn't considering playing him over Mario. Please explain.
because he is seeing significant game time and is capitalizing on the opprotunities
and hes caught a TD in 4 straight games

Knox Targetswk1 = 4wk2 = 9wk3 = 3wk4 = 8wk5 = byewk6 = 7
