All things considered who do you feel offers the most upside?

I ask this question mostly because believe it or not in a best ball league all 5 of these backs were available in the mid 3rd so all the owners passed on these guys at least once if not twice vs where the relative ADP is for them.

Curious how the board rates them. PPR league, 6 pts all TDs, TE=2PPR.

I'm almost positive Portis will win this hands down but I wonder if there are folks out there that would be persuaded to pass on Portis for any of the other 4 backs, thanks.

I think Ronnie Brown and it won't even be close.
Do you mind explaining why exactly? Why will he be so much better than the other 4? Curious, not trying to even imply this is the wrong move here.
More talented than any of the other backs. Will be featured this year. 2 Years removed from ACL injury. The only one with a better line is Jacobs and he may not break 12 catches. Reports out of camp even have Ronnie lining up at WR. Contract year. They WILL be getting him the ball. I think he picks up where he left off in 2007 with a tad fewer receptions than Cameron was throwing at him.Portis's catches have been declining and if it was his OL's fault or not, he really slowed down last year after a hot start. PT won't get the carries he needs to win this. Colston back, Shockey back, Bush back.. he got touches almost out of neccessity and no DC's were planning for him. I think Barber is going to get stuck in a RBBC with Felix and even get some relief from Choice. Touched on Jacobs above.

I voted Brown. I just think they are going to use him as they did two years ago - could be one of the best vales for an early round pick.

Truth be told, I'm taking Pierre Thomas. I think he'll score 15 TD's and have 1,300-1,500 total yards. Those are my expectations if Bush if healthy.

He's the #11 RB on my board. He doesn't have durability questions like Jacobs and Barber do. Plus he's in the most explosive offense of the group.

Of course, maybe I'm just really low on the other 4 backs. For the record, in a PPR league, I'd take McFadden over all 5 of these guys.

Marion Barber 1st I think its funny that Barber only got 1 vote but led all these guys on the list in receptions 52 for him last year did you all know? i didnt

Pierre Thomas

Ronnie Brown 2nd

Clinton Portis 3rd

Brandon Jacobs 4th

Thats my order as if these were tiers for PPR Marion and Pierre could easily flip also

He hasn't shown he's durable either. a grand total of 160 touches last year. Heck, Sammy Morris got more.

well, i don't know how useful it is to say 'it won't even be close' because we are all just guessing, but here's why i voted for Ronnie Brown.

Last year's receptions: Ronnie Brown 33, Ricky Williams 29.

I expect Ricky to take more of a backseat/backup role to Ronnie this year. He's a year older. He looked pretty good running the ball in the preseason game vs. the Jags, but he also dropped an easy catch for a TD from Henne at the end of the first half. Anyone remember that 40-50 yard bomb that Ricky dropped last year that come out of the wildcat package?

also, if he's playing the Ricky role in the wildcat with White playing the Ronnie role from last year, he could see more passes that way.

As such i expect Ronnie's receptions to increase this year at the expense of Ricky. Ronnie could easily push 40-50+ receptions this year.
