I don't see how you can say Favre DOESN'T give them the best chance to win the superbowl, but honestly, what are GB's actual chances of going to the superbowl? They do need to move on.

Favre does...but this situation is not as simple and black and white as which QB is the best for this season.

GMs have much more to deal with that something that cut and dry.

ummm.... pretty good? They were in the playoffs and had a great team last year. Anybody who says Rogers gives them a better chance at winning the Super Bowl this year is crazy. Favre is a HOF QB who already won a Super Bowl for the Pack. Rogers has played what, half a game in his career? 10 votes to 5 right now in favor of Favre. Clearly the 5 voters who chose Rogers didn't understand the question.

I still say let them compete and may the best qb win! IMO that would be Favre. But from a technical perspective it would be Rodgers. I can tell you right now that if Rodgers does play and have a break out year do we honeslty think he will stay with the Pack being that he is a free agent next year? I think Brohm may be the Pack's qb of the future not Rodgers.

Agree with a number of posters who clarify that the question is about THIS YEAR. Anyone voting Rodgers is a .

That said, agree that the Packers' are basing this decision upon consideration of not just this year, but future years with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. We can debate whether this is the right or wrong way to approach team management, but that is what they are doing. Speculation is that were they to bring Favre back in at this point, Rodgers would split and the Pack would be down to Brohm as "the future" - as opposed to having the very nice situation of hoping just one of the two works out.

Clearly, they are willing to accept the possible loss of talent at the QB level - believing that they may still have a good enough shot this year with Rodgers, and certainly improves their chances each year after Favre would have retired - because their QB in year N+1 would be that much more experienced or better evaluated.

FWIW, I voted Favre.
