Which RB do steelers pickup, if anyone? (1 Viewer)

Regardless of who they pick up, I think they'll start Harris and use Archer on 3rd downs and for relief. At this point, the RB just needs to understand the schemes and be able to block. The Steelers probably weren't going to run much on the Ravens anyways and now that Bell is out, perhaps the Ravens will get a little complacent and there will be some openings for Harris.

The Steelers are hosting free agent Ben Tate on Tuesday.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the team is expected to sign Tate if all goes well during Tuesday's visit. It's an indication the Steelers are worried about Le'Veon Bell's (knee) Week 18 availability. At this stage of the week, we'd guess Bell will not play against the Ravens. Tate opened the season playing well for the Browns, but got progressively worse and ultimately looked slow and plodding on the field. The Browns cut him and Tate's ineffectiveness continued in Minnesota. He has very little to offer the Steelers.

To me, this reads as confirmation that Bell is doubtful at best for Saturday night and may not be available for the Divisional Round (and possibly beyond).

No way Tate could contribute this weekend... and I think even less of a chance that Bell plays this weekend. I expect the Steelers to go spread/hurry-up and simply try to outgun the Ravens (which I think they can do). It really goes against the grain of this rivalry, but I think each team's best chance to win in this particular circumstance is by way of high-scoring shootout.

I really believe the interest in Tate is for beyond the Wildcard Round. Having said that, I think he's a nice fit if his head's in the game.

Look for them to use Harris and Johnson with Archer in on 3rd down. I can see Haley dialing up more short passes for Archer. Frankly, I see a lot if quick hit passes across the board. Big concern for Harris is pass protection. Haley cannot nor should not rely on Archer for any pass protection whatsoever. He and Ben would both get leveled.

Thankfully Haley's offense forces Ben to release the ball quickly. I think they'll be fine this week.

PIT wold probably like to have a "redo" on how the Blount thing was handled right about now....

Or they could have at least brought in another RB after releasing Blount. Not even having a real RB to drain clock or give Bell a breather was a disaster waiting to happen, especially if you're a playoff contender. This has mismanagement written all over it.

That being said, I do own Harris in a dynasty league so am excited to see him get a chance.

Steelers were interested in Tate when the Vikes got him.

He could can play this week, it's possible, but I agree with the rest of the sentiment.

I don't think they're going to lean on the unproven runners much at all. Just enough to keep the Ravens attention on the run.

Tate could be a GL back right away
