No one will deny that the AL East is the toughest division to win, mainly due to the Top 2 payrolls being within it. Toronto has opened up the wallet a bit recently, but injuries this year kept them from ever being a true contender. Baltimore is burdened with bad signings and mismanagement, and Tampa won't spend a dime on its team in order to improve. From a prospect perspective, Tampa looks the strongest, but they have not yet translated this 'potential' into 'wins'.
Anyway, I know threads here are Sox / Yankees / AL East biased, but I think this is an interesting discussion that is not focused on the stalwarts of the division
