No one will deny that the AL East is the toughest division to win, mainly due to the Top 2 payrolls being within it. Toronto has opened up the wallet a bit recently, but injuries this year kept them from ever being a true contender. Baltimore is burdened with bad signings and mismanagement, and Tampa won't spend a dime on its team in order to improve. From a prospect perspective, Tampa looks the strongest, but they have not yet translated this 'potential' into 'wins'.

Anyway, I know threads here are Sox / Yankees / AL East biased, but I think this is an interesting discussion that is not focused on the stalwarts of the division

Red Sox are gonna be tough to beat cuz they can keep that roster together for the next few years at least. Yankees look like they can be really really good in about 2 years but next years gonna be a down year. Toronto spends some money so they have a shot if everything falls right in the next 5 years. Tampa Bay will never spend the money to improve their bullpen so their only shot is if every prospect they have pans out at the same time. Orioles have many many years before they compete.
