Since Canadian Thanksgiving is coming up next Monday, I wonder what Thanksgiving Day you'd prefer. For the sake of the poll, it's still a holiday as far as time off, there's football to watch, food to eat, and relatives to awkwardly co-exist with for a few hours.

What say you?

Canadian makes much more sense. Closer to actual harvest time for a celebration of abundance and far enough from Christmas for sovereignty as its own family occasion, rather than the beginning of an arc. Always felt a redundancy with the two family holidays so close to each other

Especially since my birthday has fallen on Thanksgiving a few times over the years, I would agree with this.

Move it to a THURSDAY in early October and I'll be on board.

I like the current system. Maybe the second Thursday in November, but November and its temperature just feels like Thanksgiving.

Still voted both. Who votes against side dishes?

[idiot consumer] BUT BUT BUT, if Thanksgiving is on Monday, when will the holiday be for corporations to shovel all of last years unsold unwanted garbage on me for super clearance awesome deals!!???!?!? [/idiot consumer]

most of my career was in gaming - holidays created MORE hours, not less. i will have to say, hard as that was, i LOVED Thanksgiving night in casinos. Being sick to death of one's family was a great motivator to playing loose & awful poker and watching a casino go from virtually empty to overflowing in about an hour around 7pm each Thanksgiving was hilarious to watch.

Dude, next Monday already is a holiday in the USA.

I am celebrating by getting a smallpox booster shot.
