At home wishing AJ Feeley was his QB?wheres chris chambers at?
Roy has 16 TDs despite just 223 career targets. That is a very, very good rate. And historically, he has caught less than 50% of the balls thrown his way (due in large part, I would assume, to Harrington, and a trend that probably won't continue forever). With Martz there, I see no reason he won't get 140+ looks this year. If this ends up being the case, 75-1100-10 is very reachable. In fact, if he does get that many targets, I view that as his floor. Those are solid numbers. With Roy, it's really a matter of 1) can he stay healthy, and 2) will he get the targets necessary to put up stud numbers. I think that with Martz there, he should get the targets.Has Roy Williams ever really bounded?
I agree, this is something to remember for next season's draft for early points... albeit, what is up with Stallworth then? Maybe the level of talent at QB and OC has to be part of the equation too.You know one thing that I realized that all these wideouts have one thing in common they have either new qb's,new coaches and new cordinators.. I guess that doesnt help...
Agree.. You won't get consistency from Evans. He will blow up a couple of times over the course of the season with 100+ and a score or two then will go back to 20 yards the following week. I am on the verge of dropping him for a 'lesser' Wideout with greater consistency...Looking at the respective QB situations, Culpepper is seemingly still rusty from his injury, but I expect him to improve, helping Chambers. I don't have much faith in Walters, although Moss will probably get his fair share of long TDs in garbage time. Brunell looks to have taken a step back, and he and Moss may have peaked last year. A move to Campbell will likely take time to gel. I think a shift from Kitna to McCown (certainly possible) may help Roy's prospects. As for Evans, I don't see a big improvement from Losman this year, and Evans is more of a big play guy rather than a consistent force. As such, I'd rank them going forward:ChambersR. MossRoyS. MossEvans
I HATE giving credence to anything Keyshawn Johnson says, but in many instances its "Just throw him the damn ball". WR is probably the most overrated position in professional sports. They depend completely on the support of another player for success. Provided you are reasonably quick and can catch a football (again, probably the easiest job in professional sports but not a given from what we've witnessed), as long as the QB feeds you, you look like a stud. Really think S Smith, L Coles and S Moss are great? No. They're tiny (probably the last thing you want in a WR), but fast and have had a QB depend on them.Stallworth played on lousy teams with a questionable line, a questionable QB, and a WR across from him that was fed the ball in all situations. His team was also incapable of moving the chains thus there were 3-6 play drives and limited opportunity. He now has a guy that can and will air it out and they've developed an on field chemistry, with an offensive team that can move the ball. In NO he might have a drop and not see another ball for 3 quarters. With McNabb, he's almost forced to catch the ball. You dont have to go too far for guys like Drew Bennett, Santana Moss and Muhsin Muhammad. Guys that even in good situations never set the world on fire. Get a QB to throw the ball to you 12 times a game and all of a sudden you're racking up numbers like its a Playstation Game. Then you have guys like Roy Williams that probably have more pure talent than most, but doesnt get the opportunity. There's still another group like Koren Robinson, Justin McCariens, Reggie Williams and Ashley Lelie that simply cant handle the fundamentals regardless what the situation is. As the #1 guy, Williams may be coming out of that with the extra reps. His problem the first couple of years was having a learning the system disability and making reads on the fly.I agree, this is something to remember for next season's draft for early points... albeit, what is up with Stallworth then? After trading Bruce for Evans my WRs will now be:Steve SmithRandy MossChris ChambersLee EvansTerry GlennGreg JenningsI'm either going to break out in a big way in the next few weeks or my season is completely over and my season will be a huge bomb.![]()
Absolutely. With LJ and TJ as my primary running backs and Plummer at QB, how could I lose? At least it's a keeper league so there's always next year for those same guys to screw me.After trading Bruce for Evans my WRs will now be:Steve SmithRandy MossChris ChambersLee EvansTerry GlennGreg JenningsI'm either going to break out in a big way in the next few weeks or my season is completely over and my season will be a huge bomb.![]()
Aint that the magic of this game, though?A month ago you look at that bunch and say "How the heck can I lose?" then you get beat by the guy that just happened to have Donte Stallworth next on his cheatsheet and picked up Zydeco Crotchrot and dumped Dennis Northcutt after watching Sportscenter highlights 10 days ago.Damn, I LOVE this game.

(And that WR list didn't even include Eddie Kennison who I dropped this morning for Jennings)
Evans got hauled down on about a 40-50 yard TD pass that was called for PI. He's a homerun/all or nothing type guy, especially with the way the BUF pass game has gone so far this year. I still expect him to get the long ball and make some big plays throughout the season.Holy Schneikes said:I have Lee Evans on every team I own. I bet heavily on him to do well this year. But it's getting hard to keep pimping him (and hard to leave him in the starting lineup when I have a lot of "lesser" receivers doing better).Maybe he makes the adjustment soon. Sure as heck hope so. But at what point do you give up?
He also mis-timed a jump on a pass that would have been another 50 yard TD pass. If Will Allen doesn't outright tackle Evans on one play and he times his jump correctly on the other, you're looking at 120+ yards receiving and 2 TDs on the day. Of course, "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts"...Evans got hauled down on about a 40-50 yard TD pass that was called for PI. Regarding Roy Williams, people should bear in mind that the Lions have played the Seahawks and Bears thus far. The Bears D speaks for itself, but the Seahawks D is quite strong as well. They just effectively shut down the Arizona Cardinals offense. So before writing off Williams, keep in mind his early schedule. And hey, look who's up in Week 3: the Green Bay Packers.Look for Roy to turn it around.

If Kitna can get him the ball, Roy Williams will do this:

16 TD's in two seasons...
tight video...all "we left 40 points out there" jokes aside, i think this offense will be humming in a few weeks and people will kick themselves that they didn't get a piece of it while they sucked. If Kitna can get him the ball, Roy Williams will do this:

Damn, the Roy video makes me want to go out and trade for him in the leagues I don't own him.Must locate videos of my own players before doing something drastic.
