Which "What If" supplies you keep in your Trunk/Vehicle? (1 Viewer)

my non-schtick answer -

I just bought a new truck (ok, SUV) and am in the process of figuring out what I should keep back there full time.  Here's what I've got so far:

Emergency equipment - things I keep around either to help me or others as needed.

  • jumper cable
  • big ### flashlight
  • first aid kit
  • fire extinguisher
  • emergency poncho
  • towel
Handy things to keep around, just for convenience:

  • tie-down straps
  • large garbage bags
  • zip ties
  • leatherman
  • electrical tape
  • assorted screw drivers
  • matches/lighter
If I was driving somewhere that there isn't a gas station or Wal-mart every 20 miles, and especially somewhere with snow/ice, I would keep a lot more -

  • cold weather gear
  • food
  • water
  • shovel
  • space blanket
  • roadside flares

I thought of this thread and looked to see what I've been carrying around.   I have:

Emergency road kit (this one)

Set of screwdrivers

Wheel lock nuts

Mexican blanket

2 golf balls

carbon monoxide detector that is supposed to be on my boat

spool of 6 lb fluorocarbon fishing line

reusable shopping bag

ice scraper

Steering wheel tray. I used to eat lunch in my car then nap. Now I work from home and have a different car - my fat leather stitched steering wheel is almost too thick for the tray.

I'm in the "I've got a phone " club.

And, I don't think  have traveled more than 20 miles from home in the last 8 or 9 years
