2. Have I made a pick (of any type...steal, original, or repick) since this player was FIRST DRAFTED FROM THE PLAYER POOL....if no, then....

3. Did I have the opportunity to steal this player before (while I was on the clock)...if no....then

:blackdot: Just saw the Winslow news. My son has been on here all day, and I kept looking over his shoulder to see if I had a mesage (e-mail). When I finally pushed him off to check the draft, I was many hours OTC, and never bothered to look anywhere else first! :lmao:

Nothing to do about it now. Hopefully he'll be ok.

just re-pick, nothing bothers me more than a tainted draft.(which is why the steal penalty is gay,but that is another story)Hurry up and do it before the next guy goes.

I appreciate the thought, but if I did repick, then it would be tainted. Near as I could see, the Winslow news is rumor right now (although it admittedly has a ring of truth). Many guys in these drafts lose a player before the season starts. At least I know about mine while I can still do something about it! :bye: Anyone who feels really bad for me can just leave my Coles pick alone.

:X

Updated the steals to reflect the results of the vote. I only updated them in round four though.

Remember that when you steal a player, you have to send out two different PMs, one to the guy you stole from and one to the guy that's next up.

Let's get this ##### moving, I want to finish it before the PDSLs start.

not a chance at this pace

I'm all for speeding this along - but I think the last few days lagged from those taking the weekend off.

That said, I want to be in Round 12-13 this weekend and kill it next week.

We're in Round 5 (sorta). Two rounds (of 14 picks) is doable in a day.

28 in a day? weve only had 6 so far today

I think we're all beginning to see the limitations of this draft in the practical sense in a non-live setting (Or at least if not done via a long ### time-limit).

There's only one person ever on the clock at a time. It shouldn't be that much sloower then any other surviver draft.

5.09 Chris Chambers, MIA, WR

edit to add

White Elephant should go

faster

1 for guys on the clock because they should want to hurry up and secure their picks.

2 because timing of makeup picks for getting robbed requires you to be around at that point, so there should be more people hanging around

longer

1. Because 5 steals equates to five extra rounds

Makeup picks for steals running into the same players regular picks should not slow it because the guy should be around for his regular pick

This does seem like it could be very interesting in a live format, if it seems that no draft position is too strong.

Also, taking Coles and the Browns main receiver was subtle and cold.

I have a question about which players are eligible for me to steal...I can't steal Shockey because the same owner made a pick after that, is that correct?
Correct...it isn't his last pick.

Couple questions for clarification:

1. After Shockey was stolen from me, there was really no incentive for me to make my replacement pick until just before the end of the turn, correct? In other words, if I had waited until now to make my Heap steal now after LHUCKS, I'd only have to be hoping to get by one more pick right?

2. Now at this point, I can wait for the turn to be made and then can make a pick from any of those round 6 players for my 5.2 pick replacement, right?

3. If I don't make a replacement pick, do I make two picks at the 6.13 or am I just out that 5.2 pick?

Thanks for any help. By the way, I hope I'm not on the clock but I want to get this right before I make any additional mistakes regarding the timing of when I make my picks.

I don't know about all this bs.....I am just going to steal your next pick!

a. you might have more picks locked behind you, thus limiting your pool of players to select fromb. the trick is to pick the best guy that wont be stolenc. You couldn't have stolen heap from me because

Use the three tests at the top of this thread, there may be players you can't steal in round 6.
3. If I don't make a replacement pick, do I make two picks at the 6.13 or am I just out that 5.2 pick?
You can wait as long as you want to make your replacement pick, but you'd be putting yourself at a disadvantage if you wait too long. Players would start to fail the tests and that would take them off the board for you.

By the way, am I or is Rudy on the clock? Thanks, starting to get a bit confused.
As far as I know there's no clock, but you don't want to wait too long because picks will get locked in.
Yeah, I think I get that. It's just that I didn't want anyone other than the two TEs this round. And I don't want to burn my 3rd steal in the same round if Rudy happens to resteal from me. I'm just trying to understand why I was so stupid as to steal Heap when I did when I could have done it right after you.To me this is a slight flaw with this kind of draft. There can be huge advantages to being on the site at certain times, namely right before the turn is made. I still like it. I'm just trying to wrap my brain around some of the issues I'm seeing with it still.

1: That isn't necessarily true. Generally, there will only be one or two "safe" spots to steal any individual player. IN the case of Heap, there never would have been a safe spot, assuming LHUCKS had stolen him from Jeff. There's several different scenarios for steals that we've already seen in this draft. Right before your next pick is always "safe", but doesn't always give the best round value. Some of the strategy for normal drafts also still applys. IE: Stealing Heap was fairly safe for LHUCKS because Rudy already had a high ranked tight end, and was unlikely to spend another high draft pick on the position. 2: You can re-pick, or re-steal at any time, but all the steal rules still apply, and you are down to one steal. Choose carefully where to exercise it, because after that, you'll be at everyone else's mercy.3: Yes, you could choose to wait until your next turn (the 6th rounder) and pick two straight. The first you choose would then be unstealable. OR...if you want to conserve that last steal, then pick from the player pool ASAP every time. If someone steals the player, then at least they burned a steal. Also, if they stole him, chances are you wouldn't have gotten him at your next pick anyway. EG: I re-picked Reggie Brown at a spot where I could not protect him from being stolen. BUT...looking around at players in the ADP area, I didn't see anybody that I would have wanted to use a steal on. If Brown gets stolen from me, I made someone use a steal on a player they may have drafted from the pool had I not already done so.This draft is much more then player rankings/your perception of player calue VS. their ADP. It's just as much (or more) about draft strategy, and outwitting your fellow competitors.
