Who are "studs" that will drop off? (1 Viewer)

Looking at your list, OchoCinco was hurt (as was his qb), Addai's line was decimated, Roy got traded, and Braylon just stunk.

Any o-lines that are looking thin thus far? Any significant injuries we should be paying attention to?

I know T.O. typically elevates his qb's play, but with that line I just don't see him coming anywhere near previous year's #'s.

Like last season to name a few...Ocho...Addai :lmao: Braylon Edwards..Roy Williams,
The difference between the perception and reality of Roy Williams always amazes me. As far as a dropoff, as mentioned T. Jones jumps off the page but it's already reflected in his price. VJax I think will fall back a bit. I'm not buying Forte where he's going.

Chad Pennington....I look for his season to drop off and Henne to take over.

Jake Delhomme

Brandon jacobs....all the injuries finally take their toll on his body(also could be Steven Jackson).

As for Deangelo Williams? Yeah, No.

Jon Stewart can't even stay on the field and Deangelo is going to be top 5 again.

MJD as a featured back? ain't happenin'

SJax - always a preseason top 5 RB glamour pick, Bulger hurt, Avery hurt, new coaching staff and too many 'ifs' on the offensive line that makes Sjax the poster boy for 'stud to dud' in 2009.

Dallas Clark - dude suffered yet another concussion, this one in training camp... has missed over a week of practice already, and the first preseason game..once a player suffers recurring concussions, it's almost guaranteed that it will end his career prematurely. for a guy who is a injury risk already, I'll find a TE elsewhere.

Torry Holt - but that goes without saying...

Hines Ward

Brandon Marshall

Tony Gonzalez

Rivers is hitting his peak...wrong.Slaton is going to tear apart the league this season and be a PPR beast in an offense that was made for him. Wrong!Kevin Smith - Stud? since when?Matt Forte - here I agree with you...he is going way too high for my taste. Great heart, great work ethic. However they have a stud QB in Cutler,....it can either elevate him more...or his numbers might drop off a bit. But I think last season may have been his career year. That may be the toughest call this season. Last year he was huge value...this year...I am having a tough time reading him. I will let another owner grab him in the top 4.My picks for big dissapointment will be:MJD - I know he is a beast...but I hate that teams lack of a true passing game and I think that can really make tough sledding for him.Steven Jackson - Oh boy.....health concerns, lack of a real offense....red flags galore.TO - their QB flat out sucks.

I think by shear age:

Tomlinson (however you still HAVE to take him late first)

Portis (I could see him slowing down)

Gates

Flashes in the pan:

Steve Slaton (I like the guy a lot, just could see him falling off due to size, injury)

Calvin Johnson (don't like the rookie QB possibility)

DeSean Jackson (relying on big plays is risky)

Below average years:

TJ Housh (team change hurts as i think it took him awhile to develop with Palmer)

Brandon Marshall (Orton change hurts)

Guys I really like at their ADP who I think will overperform:

Reggie Bush (ppr)

Ryan Grant

Colston

Dwayne Bowe

Probably a poor title... I mean for this year only. I like calvin but could see the QB situation and teams focusing on him affecting his performance.

Didn't affect his performance last year. And he didn't exactly have Joe Montana throwing the ball to him.

Completely understand that and I very well may be wrong. I just think QB questions can have the affect of causing an otherwise good WR to underperform.

Very bold there.Calvin and Slaton.....Uber Studs.

And Desean Jackson is in his second year of a very complicated west coast scheme...in which he had a heck of an impact as a rookie (he is no Michael Clayton).

Good luck wirth those choices!

He really wasn't a stud last year, but lots of folks are projecting him to be, and I agree with you...Disaster on the horizon.

Thomas Jones, DeAngelo Williams, LenDale White, Antonio Bryant, Brandon Marshall.
I like all those picks... But....I don't agree about DeAngelo, he might even be better due to two factors: a) Jeff Otah is pushing people around at camp b) DeAngelo is a year wiser and could be the main man all season because J.Stewart is missing a lot of time thus far.Normally I would say his upsurge (especially the late season TDs) are just due to a shift in winds, but i think DeAngelo is very real for '09.

 RBs - Steven Jackson, Marshawn Lynch, Reggie Bush will continue his slide.WRs - Braylon Edwards, Brandon Marshall, Ocho Cinco will continue his inconsistent ways.TE - Antonio Gates, Todd Heap is done..

I agree, and while not the point of the thread bump up A.Gonzalez.
