Who are you dropping Avery for? (1 Viewer)

I remember last year but so far Avery has shown no signs of life this season. Not all of this is the fault of Bulger either. Dropping passes and fumbles are not helping his cause. Any Rams homers care to chime in? I am considering Manningham or one of the Ravens receivers for him. Who are you dropping him for?

What did he have for a number of targets this week? IIRC, he had at least 8 last week which is/can be a pretty good indicator of usefulness.

Avery looks like a pretty easy drop right now, but if you look closer at the targets, it might not be so easy.

Avery has had 14 targets so far through 2 games, which is the same number as some of the following WR's who were drafted higher:

Colston

V Jackson
Ochocinco
Boldinthat is also more targets than the following WR's who all have 13 targets so far:

Jennings
Bowe
Owens
Cotchery
R Williams
Edwards
Evans
Marshallif someone like Manningham or Sims-Walker is out there, maybe it makes sense to drop Avery. but I don't think it's so clear cut. we know STL will be behind and throwing a lot this season, and you have to think at some point Avery will start hauling in more of those targets, no?

Dropping Avery for Super Mario!

ETA: this is redraft, in dynasty I'd prob hold, and try to get both of them.

I'll be dropping him for:

Manningham

Steve Smith

Robinson

In that order. At least Robinson can catch the ball. My league is -2 FL EVEN on special teams. I can forgive a player for laying an egg but I can't forgive him for getting negative points which is what Avery did this week.

I know it's weird because they're so good, but the Rams haven't been on in my market so I'm interested to hear what people that sit through Rams games (God bless you) think.

Avery returned faster than expected from his preseason injury. Are there still lingering effects? Specifically, does he seem to have the speed he exhibited last year? I was thinking he might be a hold until mid-season to see if he rounds into form coming off the injury/shortened preseason.

Avery has talent. But this year I avoided every STL player I could like the plague (with maybe one or two exceptions), as I knew their offense would be a mess. That included Steven Jackson. Another great talent, but is wasting away on that team right now...
