For quite a while I believed that Gruden was merely wearing Dungy's ring and rode the wave of what Dungy created but was booted off of a season too soon. Then with the emergence of the Colts defense I was all but convinced Gruden should share custody of the ring with Dungy. Then this happens... and now I'm not so sure  Is Gruden wearing Dungy's ring, or would the Buccs never have won had Dungy stuck around another year?

It's funny how opinions change wildly back and forth depending on a little success and failure or change of venue. The knock on Dungy forever was that he could not get over the hump and was a tad bit conservative. Then he goes to Indy where Peyton obviously has complete control of the offense (have you ever seen a QB override a coach more blatantly than Peyton waiving off the kicking team?)...where was I...oh yes...Dungy rides on the success of what Polian has built and Peyton's offensive mind and we're all so willing to call Dungy one of the best coaches bar none. But then he loses today and here we are again...quickly handing Dungy his Shottenheimer award for almost being Super.

I'll admit, I bit hard when the Colts started out 13-0. I figured if Dungy and the Colts couldn't go all the way this year they probably never would be able to. Well, they didn't win a single playoff game, so while yes it is just one game I feel its a pretty telling one.

are you kidding ??GRUDEN....and not even closeDUNGY = loserhe doesn't know how to prepare a team to win "the big one"

Gruden...and it's not even close. There's no way that offense is nearly that good with Dungy there, and it just ends up being another divisional round playoff loss.

and c'mon if Gruden wasn't there they wouldn't have had the Raider playbook with them in the super bowl game! :P
