Who do you expect to have a bigger season? (1 Viewer)

I have recently been offered a trade...

Mike Bell / Tony Gonazalez for Ben Watson / Chris Brown.

I think that DEN RBBC could be a headache for me all season.

I personally think Watson will have the bigger year. I am inclined to take the trade, as I have Watson and Brown in my other league, and think it might be smart to get rid of Bell right about now.

I would not do that deal yet there is nothing in that offer that makes me say go ahead and do the deal. Denver plays St. Louis and KC during the first two weeks. Mike should put up strong numbers against both teams given their poor defenses. After he does that try to move him since I think his value will start to diminish afterwards. Brown is going to be just as big a headache as M. Bell since he has two other RB's in the TEN backfield to contend with and he is, of course, injury prone. M. Bell also has way more upside than Brown (think Mike Anderson numbers from last year) if (and, I understand, it's a big if) M. Bell remains the starter, albeit while still sharing carries with Tatum Bell

i agree.

wait until at least game 1 to unload m. bell.....his value is only going to go up, if he holds on to the starting gig.

I disagree that Bell has more upside than Brown - Brown was on pace for 1,600 yards when he got hurt in '04. And given the commitment to getting Bell touches, I actually think that Bell's upside is limited to no more than 1200 and 12 TDs, with 1,000 and 8-10 being a more realistic estimate based on Anderson's numbers last year. Brown, OTOH, doesn't look to be in danger of losing much work to Henry or White, who have both been underwhelming in relief. He could bust out a 1,300 yard season if he stays healthy, maybe more.

Brown's propensity to ALWAYS get injured at some point during the season limits him in my mind. Add in the fact that at some point later in the season (right near the fantasy playoffs) Tenn will start looking to next year and playing Vince Young, and Lendale White to get them real game experience in preparation for '07 leads me to think Brown, although very talented, has a more limited upside than M. Bell in '06. I am thinking that M. Bell's upside is that he can achieve M. Anderson type numbers this season if the Broncos use the same approach to running the ball as they did last year, and M. Bell remains the starter all season. Whether he gets there or not is the big question.

I think you should bring it to the AC Forum.

Bell. TEN's backfield is no less muddied than DEN's with White and Henry in the mix and Bell doesn't have a history to lead us to believe he's a significant injury risk. Meanwhile, there's every reason to believe Christina will miss half the season with sand in his cl......avicle. :D

Bell also plays for the far superior team.

For someone who has been here for 2 mos, you tell em Steve! :D What some of the replies fail to mention is that if B. Watson goes for 6/90/1 in the first game and Tony G. goes for 4/35/0, will the other guy want to do that trade? Add in the possibility that C. Brown does better than M. Bell, will the guy keep the offer on the table?
