Who does the most accurate mock draft? (1 Viewer)

DenverBroncos

I'm curious as to whether the FBG staff or members here have ever done any sort of statistical analysis or comparison of the zillions of mock drafts prepared. I'm curious as to who you think has been the most consistently accurate.

Edit to add: Was trying to fix the table & provide the link.... craxie beat me to it

craxie's also right that the scoring system is not the best.

What it does show that people scoring low in their system really shouldn't be offering mocks

that info is from http://www.thehuddlereport.com/Free/mockdraftrankings.shtml

the problem is their scoring system sucks (1 point for each player correctly placed in round. 2 points for players matched to correct teams that pick them)

if you predict someone goes 33 (top of second) and they go 32 (bottom of the first), is that not closer than someone who predicts them to go 10th?

and really the team they go to is less important than the position in the draft

the main 'purpose' of mocks is to see

a) who will be there when you pick

b) where you have to/can move to get the player you want

thus a better scoring system would be:

10 pts - exact position

7 pts - off by 1

5 pts - off by 2

3 pts - off by 3

2 pts - off by 4

1 pts - off by 5

0 pts - off by 6 or more

being off by 5 actually gives you a range of 11 picks (five above, exact, five below), if you can't get that close, you don't deserve any credit
