Who had the stones to bench Josh Allen against Texans last night? (2 Viewers)

I did!- who joined me?
Would you have posted what you did if he had a great game?….kidding. I honestly considered starting Daniel Jones as my gut was feeding my brain with concerns about the TNF matchup, but I decided it would be tougher overcome watching Allen go off on my bench than seeing him stink the joint up. Congrats on your decision so far.

Stones Size Test: Who did you have on your bench to start in Allen’s stead?
Brissett and Flacco-
Stones, yeah... is Flacco for sure playing this week?

Sitting Allen for Brissett. Interesting. Hope it works out for you.
I had a strong feeling given the short week…HOU pass defense(looked like a Cook game)….and the quirkiness of these Thursday night game.
I’m also old enough playing fantasy to ride to a championship with Billy Volek and Drew Bennett….

Memories anyone?

Starting Jacoby with confidence

Should also be who had the stones to play Houston D against Allen/Cook? Guy in our league benched them
#1 fantasy scoring defense, I started them everywhere I have them (helps I don't get negatives for high scoring or yardage against.) I figured even if Allen blew up for 6 TD's like the prior week, there would still be 4 or 5 sacks and maybe a INT/fumble. Technically Denver was ahead in fantasy coming into this week but hadn't had their Bye yet.

Started Allen in two dynasty leagues, thought he'd get at least 1 TD and end up with an average stat line at least... :kicksrock:

Josh Allen, the most overrated passer in the league. He essentially gets by on physical traits, alone (albeit, are elite). Allen relies on running around like a chicken with his head cut off trying to pull something out of his ***. It looks like he decides where to throw as soon as the call comes in on the headset. You can tell by how often Allen stares down his target. Joe Brady is no rocket scientist, but Buffalo's passing woes aren't all because they don't have a dawg at WR.

FF is a different story, of course, but if he never wins a title, I won't be surprised in the least. If Allen had Brady's smarts and instincts, the Bills would've had multiple titles by now.

I pulled Allen at the last second for Stafford. First time sitting him all season. I figured his ceiling wasn't going to be high going up against Houston.

Great question.
I did start Houston Def in one league but benched in another .
I faced Allen in a league where I benched Houston D for Baltimore.

Still like the outcome but could have been incredible to come out with my D outscoring Allen. I actually could not remember if I had made the switch, I picked up Baltimore D a few weeks ago for this stretch of 3 games(but before I knew Burrow might return) as I liked Baltimore's matchups with Jets, Cincy and Pittsburgh over the Texans slate of Buffalo, Colts and Chiefs. In order to make room for this I cut my backup QB, Trevor, and have been riding solo with Lamar which is a decision I'd like back but I'm in a super tight race and wanted to maximize my lineup. So I was not watching the game live or had access to my league so for awhile I was thinking I might have screwed up and not put in Baltimore. I did, now wish I had not.

As for benching Allen. I only own him one place and Drake Maye is my QB2. As I had said I was not watching the game live when it started, was driving around and thinking to myself about what I had going in the game(which was almost nothing) and before I knew anything about the game it hit me that I should have benched Allen for Maye. Just so locked into starting Allen I did not consider it until it was to late.

No offense, but this doesn’t qualify for having stones.
Wut?
Stafford leads the NFL in TD passes, and he’s playing at home against a struggling Bucs defense. The Bucs have lost two straight games where they gave up an average of 36 PPG.

Meanwhile, Josh Allen was playing on a short week against the league’s best D.

I play match-ups. I would start Stafford.

That's the problem, most don't play match ups when they have an elite QB drafted so high to their team.

Nope. He's the sole QB I roster in that league. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a tad nervous though. I pretty much have wrapped up a first round bye in that league and I'd be lying even more if I said that I'm not pretty nervous about his wk 16 & 17 matchups vs the Browns and Eagles, respectively.

Most people also don’t have two elite QBs. When you have two elite QBs it doesn’t take stones to start the one who may technically be lesser, but who has the far better match-up.

Starting Jacoby Brissett over Josh Allen, however, does qualify as stones.

100%

Dropped Cousins and grabbed Stafford and Daniel Jones for next to nothing pre season as a backup to Allen in a 1 QB league. I was trying to move Stafford all year but the only other interested party was a team I'm fighting for a 1st round bye, so I held.

Josh Allen just isn't someone I play matchups with, but yeah, short week vs Houston. It was a no brainer in hindsight.
