Who has had the luckiest/unluckiest fantasy team this year? (1 Viewer)

I mean maybe each game you played the lowest scoring team, or maybe one player for you broke out every game and gave you win, or something along those lines, and vice-versa for unluckiest team.

I'll post mine after I get a few repsonses (hopefully). Mine's probably been the luckiest

Where I thought you were going with this and what probably would be the more interesting thread is "Who has been the luckiest/unluckiest team in the NFL this year".

well who cares about the luckiest nfl teams. we know the bills are the unluckiest. considering this is a FF board, i thought hearing about teams would be fun

I lost one matchup by .3 points when I was facing Garrard and Mike Thomas. Needless to say, that was the Hail Mary week. That did not make me happy.

I've been pretty unlucky. I still managed to grab the #2 seed in our league. Currently 8-4 With the most points scored and the second most points scored against.

My first loss was just a bad week all around for my team. Can't really pin it on one thing exactly.

My second loss: I have Floyd, Gates, and Rivers on my team. Week 4 when Gates and Floyd went out injured early in the first quarter, it not only gave me little to no points for either of them, but also killed Rivers' points for the week. I lost by 25 points. Oops. I forgot to mention I had Kaeding as well.

My third loss: (I have bad luck against this team) Went up against our #5 ranked team who to this point had never scored above 270 points. Well...he decides to set our new league scoring record against me and ##### rapes me with 355 points!!!

My fourth loss: (same as the previous team) 3 things cost me this week. A. CJ2 Decides to throw up 3 points. B. Rivers gets me only 8 points after the Chargers defense decides to make Manning their whipping boy. C. Down 26 points going into MNF I still had a linbacker left. Paris Lenon is having a great night and has me within 8 points with 7 minutes left in the game. I feel like I could end up winning this one just because the 49ers are running the ball so much. Lenon decides to get hurt making a tackle and ends up leaving the game with me down by only 6 points. After he leaves, his replacement ends up racking up 3 quick tackles that clearly would have been made by Lenon, giving me the victory.

I think I've been relatively unlucky-- 3rd in points scored, 6-5 record. Romo and Nicks practically done for the year.

Without question, this team has been the unluckiest. It's not my team. This team is 1st in pts scored by almost 100 pts over the 2nd place team. And, this league uses VPs, so it's supposed to help with unlucky H2H results and this team currently has a good shot of missing the playoffs and has a 5-7 record

I have Grant, Finley, SRice, RMoss, Stafford, PThomas, ADP. I guess you could say I have been unlucky.

I have been lucky enough to be 8-4 thus far...

I don't know about unluckiest but my coulda won column on MFL is at 5 and my shoulda lost is at 1.

I'm 4-8 - but apparently could have been 8-4 ...

ok ill post mine, its kind of long, but probably the luckiest team there is. note that every owner plays

- 12 team 5 keeper heavy scoring league (weird things like 0.2 points per rush attempt, .4 points per completion, etc)

- 10-2, best record in league, 2nd most points scored (behind the stacked commissioner with AP, Sjax, Peyton, Andre, Foster)

- QB: Schaub. RB: Forte, Mendenhall, Moreno, Bernard Scott (THAT'S ALL). WR: Colston, Roddy, Jennings, Collie, James Jones, Meachem, Gaffney. TE: Gates. D/ST: Drafted Dallas, now running a committe of ATL and ARZ (play CAR 3 of last 4 weeks). K: Akers

- In offseason, I traded Gore and Vernon Davis to get Moreno and Gates. Looks really good now

- Also traded Kolb, Mathews, and Kellen Winslow for Schaub, Forte, and Colston when everyone said not to. HOW LUCKY WAS THAT?

- Wanted to grab Orton off FA for the first 3-4 weeks but completely forgot. Missed out on Foster and Hillis and every other FA due to stupid WW rules where any free agents can be picked up at any time. So I'm basically running on my drafted team

Just look at the players. Schaub, Moreno, Colston, Collie, Gates all underperforming or injured. Matt Forte has a lot of points, thank god for PPR

Main money league:

#1 in points against, by 25 pts.

#2 in points for, down by 17pts.

4-7 - 5 loses against #1 scorer of the week, 1 lose against the #2 scorer of the week, 1 lose by 2 pts - where my kicker missed two FGs (both were -1)

Quick edit: for points against, I have over 100 pts against more than any playoff team.

I got the 9th pick in the draft. CBS says I have the most difficult schedule of anyone in my 12 team league. The guy that beat me last night had the 1st draft pick and CBS says he has the 12th hardest schedule. FMe, hopefully I can still hit the playoffs being #2 but dang has it been a battle, now I lost Gore but still have Mendy, Bradshaw & Blount. Not a happy girl today. Please let Gore be able to continue his career, that's really all I care about right now.

Made the playoffs, but my luck has run out: first five picks - Gore, DeAngelo, Romo, Finley, Nicks.

League 1 - #3 scoring team - 5-7 and in 7th place. Lost by one point this week thanks to DAs last pick Monday night.

League 2 - #1 scoring team - 6-6 and in 6th place. Was the #2 scorer playing the #1 scorer in 3 of my losses.

In 3 of my losses, I've lost by a total of 3.9 points...

1st in points scored and 5-7.

9-3 team in my league has faced lowest scoring team in 6 weeks. He's 11th in points...

Here's my sob story. Note that this is a 10 team league where we each have an NFC and an AFC team. My team is:

QB: Brady, Henne, Young

RB: Foster, Rice, McFadden, Tomlison, Moreno

WR: Wayne, Lloyd, Wallace, Floyd, Steve Johnson. Ochocinco

K: Folk, Reed

D: Jets, SD

First in total points by a good amount over 2nd and 3rd and by a mile over eveyrone else. Had by far the most poinst scored against as everyone had their best week against me. Finshed the season 5-7 and missed the playoffs.

Some of the losses that looked real safe going into Monday until:

1. NE defense scores defensive TDs 3 different ways

2. Chris Johnson socres a gargage time 15 TD in the final seconds of a blowout when most teams would have sat their star RB

3. Michael Vick explodes on the Redskins

Last week was a non-MNF loser. Lost the the trio of Peyton Hillis, Jamaal Charles, and Dwayne Bowe. He has the top score in the league for the year.

I remember this team being posted in the "show-off your best dynasty team" thread. Just proves that you need some luck and having a great team isn't always enough.

My teams are something out of bizarro world - I am in six leagues and the two teams with the worst rosters are 11-1 and 10-2, while my best team is 6-6 and out of playoffs.

I am in a 14 team league that starts 3 running backs. I own Foster, Hillis, Charles, and SJax. I also have Vick as my QB.

I am not going to make the playoffs. 3rd in points. 1st in points allowed by a wide margin.

Guys I drafted:

Lost Romo, and Stafford whom I backed him up with

Best has been nicked all year

Gore just went out

Zach Miller is banged up and basically worthless for the year

Portis is basically done for

Moss is... doing whatever it is that he's doing

All of these guys (save Gore at #5) were great draft picks as far as where I took them vs. production... when they were healthy.

I'm down to Jamaal Charles and a skeleton crew at RB/Flex. And I traded away Peyton Hillis and Darren McFadden early in the season to improve my WR group (Moss/Bowe - guess which one was the "stud" and which I was trying to improve... heh). Then I had to trade away the WR depth that I got for those guys to replace Romo and Stafford - gave up Colston for Flacco.

So basically I traded Hillis and McFadden for DeSean Jackson and Joe Flacco, and now I'm short two RBs. Weird huh?

9-3, but limping into the playoffs with a fractured hip, broken collarbone, and turf toe. Ugh.

* - I did catch one break, I traded McFadden and Santana Moss for Colston. I offered two deals for Colston - McFadden/S. Moss, or McFadden/Bowe. He took the first.

I would vote for unluckiest

Romo/Stafford

Gore

J. Best

B. Wells

Marshall

Nicks

Z. Miller

and the crazy thing is it is only a 12 guy roster team. My team now going into the playoffs (I am still 8-4)

S. Hill/McNabb

B. Wells

Westbrook

S. Greene

Crabtree

M. Williams TB

M. Thomas

Manningham

Cooley

M. Bryant

SD Defense

My best players going into the playoffs are Westbrook, S. Hill, Manningham and SD Defense hahaha if this team wins a championship after all the injuries it will be well deserved.

That's scary close to my team. I feel your pain.

In my start 2 qb/2 te league I drafted Romo, Stafford, Alex Smith, Ryan Grant, Ryan Mathews, Ronnie Brown, DeAngelo Williams, Jahvid Best, Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall, Donald Driver, Roddy White (thank god), Larry Fitzgerald, Miles Austin, Dallas Clark, Finley.

I thought my team would be decent at rb but really dominate at the wr/te positions. And I thought Romo would be the #1 qb. Whoops, across the board. Losing $700 never felt so empty. I still actually have a chance at the playoffs if I win the next two weeks and a series of unlikely scenarios play out.

Drafted:

Romo

Gates

Nicks

Randy Moss (traded him for Brandon Marshall after the Pats/Vikes trade)

Gonna most likely make the playoffs and get booted in the 1st round.

In my league this team is last in points but 2nd in the standings at 8-4.

Fitzpatrick

Mike williams

Mike williams

Crabtree

LT

Mendenhall

Mecedes lewis.

Who cares

Who cares

I'm 6-6....Most points scored in the league - most points scored against

1st in QB points

2nd in RB points

1st in WR/TE points

5th in DST points

CBS has an indicator that computes which team has had the most difficult/unluckiest schedule by comparing what you score to every other owners score that week....I am ranked 1st in most difficult schedule ....I just seem to end of playing teams that score high that particular week....

Thought I drafted one of my better teams in this 20 plus year redraft league, I have never missed the playoffs that I can remember.

10 teams, start 2 qb's 3 rb's 3 wr's 1te, K and DEF, ppr scoring

Romo, Cutler, Mcnabb

MJD, D Williams, Forte, R Bush, M Barber, Torian and traded for S Jackson (gave up Welker)

Marshall, Welker, V Jackson, S Rice, M Williams, D Bryant, M Thomas (Traded Welker ) (picked up and lost M Clayton)

O Daniels, A Hernandez

Last in the league in Points scored, 1st in points against by a good margin, and a 3-9 record and no hope at the play offs. I thought I killed it at the draft and was laughing at some of my good fortune to get V Jackson and S Rice in the couple of rounds to hold till the playoffs. What a nightmare team, just never got going at all this year. And the other owners were just loving watching me have my 1st horrid season. As I always tell them, better luck next year!

One of my teams is 3rd out of 10 in points scored and 3rd out of 10 in all-play record.

It's 3-8-1 :wall:

My luck's been so bad this year that I actually figured out what my record would've been if my schedule were swapped with every other team :ptts: and I would've been no worse than 6-5-1

But I've had other years where I've had teams that stumbled their way to glory. All part of the game

Anyhow here's the roster. A who's who of the frequently injured:

Vick

Fitzpatrick

(got frustrated and cut Cutler, also had Stafford two separate times)

MJD

McCoy

Moreno

Mathews

McFadden (lot of M's on this team)

Tomlinson

Blount

Calvin

Owens

Floyd

Tampa Mike

Finley  later replaced my Keller who probably had as much to do with my team's destruction as anyone. Now have Pettigrew.

A host of kickers, most recently Succop.

:ptts:

I got addicted to auction drafts this year and somehow ended up managing 24 teams (20 of them very loosely!), and while there are some teams that have worse records than their points indicate, or 10-1 records scoring like 87 PPG, mostly things have worked out that my 'good' teams are doing at least OK. But as for getting into a playoff spot, it seems very easy to be left just 1 spot out while being top3 in points: a good team definitely won't be a bottom feeder, but when a 7-7 non-playoff record is the same as a 2-12 non-playoff record, it still sucks.

In one league, I went 0-5 to start... I was on the verge of throwing the towel (meaning still setting lineups but not really having any hope). Needless to say I have gone 7-0 since then and have the most points scored in my league. Pretty happy now.

That's pretty amazing, Captain amazing.

I started the year on a lucky streak. I wasn't scoring much, but my opponents were leaving big points on their bench and losing to me.

Now, my luck has run out and it is I who leave points on the bench. Two weeks ago I started Dan Carpenter and he got shut out. Had I gone with my regular starter, Rob Bironas, I would have won. I learned my lesson though. This past week I started Bironas, you know "stick with your studs." He got shut out and had I gone with Carpenter I would have won.

This week I play the best team in our league (Vick, Foster, Hillis, among others) and my best player, Chris Johnson now has no one to keep 9 guys out of the box.

My only hope is that the last game of our regular season I have an interdivisional matchup with the one team who can overtake me. If I can win that I take the division, get a 1st round bye, and guarantee myself a little coin.

Then again, I started Carpenter this week so God only knows what will happen to me.

My 10 team league draft from the 5 hole:

1. Gore

2. Calvin Johnson

3. Romo

4. Steve Smith (Car)

5. Best

5b. Traded 8th and 9th Moreno

6. Finley

7. Nicks

10. Mike Bush

11. Stafford

12. Britt

13. Henne

14. Prater

15. SD Def

When Stafford went down picked up Orton

When Bush was hurt picked up Hillis

Dropped Smith for Lloyd cause he sucked.

Got tired of Moreno always being hurt, so packaged him with Orton wk7 (b4 Romo went down) for Gates. Picked up Steve Johnson with the vacant roster spot. $5 for every waiver pickup. Guys in the league are giving me a hard time for working the wire so hard. In second place with most points scored.

I can't believe I'm 0-13 with the following roster:

Vick

Foster

Hillis

White

Lloyd

Bowe

Gates

Akers

CHI D/ST

my team has been on both ends of the spectrum. Started out 6-0 but have only won 2 games since and tied once..am sort of limping to the playoffs. A few ways Ive been unlucky..

S.Smith(NYG): Injured, potentially a non factor the rest of the way was my WR2 and a very solid one in ppr.

A.Bradshaw: Lost his job this past week, who knows how that will pan out

M.Williams(Sea): got injured right as he was ready to fill in for S.Smith

C.Johnson: Rusty Smith, nuff said.

D.Clark: got hurt, forced me to make a trade as I had no viable backup, luckily Pettigrew has filled in nicely, bad side is the 2nd place team in my division picked up Tamme who is lighting it up week in and week out.

So now here I am with the wildly inconsistent Eddie Royal, Michael Crabtree, and Robert Meachem filling in for Smith's consistency..both my starting RBs facing huge question marks and the other contenders going into the playoffs on a roll.

4-8 and missing the playoffs in one league. I'm the top point scorer by 140 points. Start 2QB/2RB/2WR/1Flex/1K/1D

QBs: Manning, Orton, Roethlisberger

RBs: SJax, Bradshaw, Fred Jackson, Best

WRs: White, Nicks, M. Williams (TB)

TE: Witten

K: Vinatieri

D: Steelers

6 games lost by 7 points or less. I've never experienced anything like it.

There's 0% chance you're 0-13 with that roster. But thank you for playing.
Actually, there is 100% chance that I'm not 0-13 since there have only been 12 games so far. I hoped to catch a few more before pointing that out.
I have Vick, Foster, and Hillis and I'm 6-6

16 Team League... Top 6 make the playoffs.

One guy not only leads the league in scoring, but is likely to finish the season with the 2nd most points in our league's history.... yet he not only needs to win this week, but also needs help to make it into the playoffs.

2nd most points in my league, and gave up almost 150 points than the next guy. Have lost Romo, Marshall, BMW Bush for most of the year, and Dallas Clark, and suffered from marginal production from CJ2K, Bradshaw, and Hines Ward. Also traded Orton too, but wound up w/Brady from a later trade that's half panned out. Somehow wound up 6-6 and in the playoffs, but I'm ready for this damn year to be over with.

League #1: Tied for 1st, but have 27 more pts for, have 215 pts more against than 2nd place

League #2: Im one of five owners still fighting for entry to the playoffs, im 6-6, 3 other 6-6s and theres one 7-5, I have more pts for and against than all of them, but I play the hardest 6-6 this week who has been in last place up until week 9, so he has gotten all of the waiver wire pick ups (Blount, S. Johnson, Tamme, Holmes, Green-Ellis) on top of having Drew Brees and trading Andre Johnson for MJD. Im sitting here with Gates and Davis in a 2 max TE league trying to make the play offs.

Maybe not the unluckiest, but I'm pretty bitter about the events that have transpired..

12 team non-ppr, Standard Scoring. This was my starting line up before the Romo injury with key backs ups since I can't really remember exactly everyone I had. Was pretty much dominating, most points by a significant amount but hadn't really separated myself due to some unlucky scheduling.

QB - Romo

RB - Gore, McFadden (Addai, MBush)

WR - Roddy, TO, Tampa Mike (Gaffney, Knox)

TE - Gates (Hernandez)

Kicker and Defense have been WW flavor of the week pretty much.

After the Romo injury I got a pretty good deal, giving up TO and Hernandez for Rivers. I felt very fortunate to come out of that situation with such a minimal hit to my starting line up at the time. The Addai injury didn't really seem to be a big deal at the time as it was right around the time DMC was coming back, but it ended up hurting those back to back weeks when DMC/Bush and Gore had Bye's. Obviously the Gates injury has been a pain in the neck for me, as it has everyone. Roddy gave me a scare a few weeks back when he left a game early, but thankfully returned. Last night's Gore injury was just the capper. I had such high hopes for this team, and it's seemingly crumbled before my eye's. I now have huge question marks at RB2, TE, WR3 and basically no depth for flexibility in line up decisions whereas 6 weeks ago I was stacked everywhere.

I'm going to make the play-offs but whether or not I get a bye is dependent on whether I can beat the team currently in 1st place and 2nd in points to me. Considering I was bottom scorer this week by a large margin, and 2nd to last the previous week, I'm not very confident in my team's chances.

Unusual season for me in that I've never had this many close games for one team in a season. Been both lucky and unlucky.

Week 1 - Lost by 2.35

Week 2 - Lost by 1.45 - Favre got me 3.25 points

Week 3 - Lost by 5.6

Week 4 - Lost by 0.5 - Needed 1 catch by Moss for the win on Monday Night and he got a zero.

Week 5 - Won by 1.2 - Favre's last pass on MNF was an easy pick by the Jets, but dropped and I won, otherwise I lose.

Week 6 - Lost by 50 - to the only winless team. He puts up 177 when he hadn't hit 100 points yet on the year.

Week 7 - Won by 1.05

Week 8 - Lost by 60

Week 9 - Won by 3.05

Week 10 - Won by 30

Week 11 - Lost by 7.3

Week 12 - Won by 2.75

5-7 Record and play the #1 team the final week. Amazingly, if I win, I'm in the playoffs. Nine game decided by 7.3 points or less. Unreal

Unluckiest:

Drafted the following:

Gore

Romo

DeAngelo Williams

Jonathan Stewart

Nicks

Kenny Britt

Zach Miller

I'm 2nd in points, but 5-7 overall for goodness sakes...

This is my team...I am 4-8 and will miss the playoffs....12 team redraft league....I traded Roddy White & Santonio Holmes after week #1 for Gore & Bowe...Traded Javid Best & pirre garcon for ADP in week #8. I have the most points in the league by over 200 points. I have faced the high point total in 5 out of the twelve weeks.

QB - Big Ben

RB - ADP

RB - MJD

RB/WR - Frank Gore

WR - Bowe

WR - Colston

TE - Vernon Davis

K - Dan Carpenter

I also have Steve Johnson since week #6, Mike Willimas (SEA) & Devone Bess.

12 team dynasty league (Zealots), standard scoring, IDPs, no PPR.

Relevant League Rankings

Total Pts: Last (next closest is 65 pts ahead)

Potential Pts: Last

Efficiency: 9th

Bench Pts: 11th

Max PF: Last

Min PF: 11th

All Play Record: Last

Actual Record: 7-5, clinched playoff spot with one week to spare.

Highlights of lineup:

QB - Henne, Hasselbeck

RB - Best, Woodhead, Sproles, Goodson

WR - Maclin, Breaston, Amendola, Manningham, L. Moore

TE - Moeaki, Celek, Boss

K - Carpenter

My IDPs are nothing special either (Briggs & Wake are the best I have). This team has so many horseshoes shoved up its ### I don't know how they can get on the field. There's no way this lineup should win three games, and the stats back that up. I had one week where I didn't start a QB (none available on waiver wire), another without a kicker, and one where I felt forced to start Sammy Morris at RB. I'm not even sure "luck" is the right word for this situation anymore.
