Some people have brought up a completely valid point. Some critics of Cutler are saying he should understand it's "just a business". Well, Cutler is only set to make $1 million this year. What if he IS drumming this up to move elsewhere and get more money? It's not ok for him to do so since it's "just a business"? We shouldn't be upset about a team's front office moving a fan favorite because it's a business but it's ok to put down a player for wanting to go elsewhere for more money? That's assuming that is even what has happened.

Either way, who stands to lose more here? Regardless of who is right and who is wrong, it would seem to me that the side on this dispute that stands to lose more is probably the one that should be giving up ground. IMO, that is easily the Broncos and McDaniels as they could end up with crap at the QB spot after all is said and done. Cutler will have a job somewhere FOR SURE and will get a nice contract to go along with it.

So, regardless of which side you agree with, who will lose the most if Cutler gets traded?

McDaniels I would think. you parted ways with a young probowl qb with a nice cap figure to fix something that wasn't broke.

He better be able to take chicken crap and make chicken salad because he started with chicken strips. McDaniels may be going all the way back to trying to hatch an egg hoping it won't end up on his face in the end.

I can't imagine McDaniels losing his job for the first year at the very least. No way does Bowlen want to pay three coaches in the same season. In 2010, when Shanahan gets another job (and Bowlen's payments to him are gone or greatly reduced), then perhaps it's a possibility.

:wall:

That said ... McDaniels sure has the deck stacked against him. I think they work it out with Cutler, somehow, someway.

McDaniels. Franchise QBs are rare and they make a HC look good. Young, inexperienced HCs? They regularly fail and get fired, usually because they don't have a good QB. I can't believe this guy was shopping Cutler and going after someone else even before he sat down and talked to Cutler. Then, once news leaked out he handled it poorly. Why did he only meet with Cutler to talk about this just the other day???? He should have met him in person right when the story first leaked.

I would be very worried if I were a Broncos fan. I see them really going into the tank for a long time with this guy at the helm. Cutler will go somewhere else and be successful and get paid more. He has little to lose.

McDaniels clearly has the most to lose. He has staked his reputation on the fact that he turned a backup QB into a star (Cassel), and very well might have to prove it again.

If this relationship cannot be fixed and Cutler gets traded, the real losers are the fans.

I think judging by the poll so far (which I agree with, btw), this is why McDaniels has been a complete buffoon.

He could be 100% right in this and be telling the honest truth and Cutler could be 100% wrong and be the biggest baby. And McDaniels still comes out the loser.

Bowlen allowing McDaniels to blow the meeting on Saturday is all on him. After the first failed conference call, it should have been made VERY CLEAR to McDaniels to swallow the ego and fix things because it may be the last chance to do so.

Bottomline, even if McDaniels is right in all this he's still wrong.
