who has more upside for the longterm? (1 Viewer)

Maurice Jones-Drew or Greg Jones? F. Taylor's putting up some decent #'s this year, but MJD has had 2 good weeks with minimal touches. What happens when G. Jones is healthy next year and getting touches at FB again?

Musa Smith or Michael Turner? J. Lewis seems to be on his way downhill and M.Anderson just turned 33 yrs old. Does Smith become the main back in a year or two or do they go out and get another younger back? Which leads to my next assessment... Burner-Turner is the best back-up IMO right now and will be a FA next summer. Where does he go and does he become a feature back or does SD re-sign him?

Julius Jones or Marion Barber? I believe that Barber and T.Thompson would be a better 1-2 punch. How long are JJ's and Barber's contracts?

Fred Taylor, from what I have heard, has voidable years upcoming. Ergo - he might be let go at the end of the year regardless.

I think the writing is on the wall with Taylor likely leaving after this season and MJD and Jones sharing the load next year. Answer: MJD

Other two you'll have to ask someone else.

:goodposting: I've been trying to get MJD all year for this reason in my keeper league.

What have you been offering?I have MJD, and am shopping him as he is my #4RB right now.

MJDrew

Turner

Jones

However, Musa and Barber are better values.

Musa just might be the best "value" RB right now. (I don't know what his price is, so I'm simply guessing)

How can the views on Jones and Barber differ so greatly with every person?

The games I have seen show me that a healthy Julius Jones is twice the back Barber. His acceleration and ability to make defenders miss stand out. In addition, the pass blocking and receiving are pretty even IMO and Barber is not a better goalline option. I think that if Jones proves healthy, he will take a majority of the load by the end of the season and into next season. If he starts to get those nagging injuries again, Parcells will try to look elsewhere for his #1 back.

That's my concern with MJD. I like him, but Turner and Smith are more likely to land full-time roles IMO.
