non-ppr. It kills me cause he was soo good to me last year but Royal is now a 4th WR and is in danger of getting passed up by MSM.

I am rolling with Laurent Robinson.

What say you?

Other than maybe S. Moss...if you can spell their name or say it, then they are infront of him. I had Welker ranked higher than him, even after Welker was announced OUT. One could have argued that A. Bryant could have been listed higher than Royal...even though Bryant didn't travel with the team. :D Sad part is that Royal had to go into the locker room for almost the entire 3rd quarter because running around and not having ball thrown your way or catching them can de-hydrate a person. :towelwave:

Benched him for MSW. Harvin would have been my next choice before I started Royal this week. Still feel like all of the skill position players will grow more comfortable in McDaniel's offense eventually, and Royal will become relevant again - but he is on the pine until he shows at least a small sign of life.

I'd pretty much write my own name in before starting him at this point. If our benches weren't so deep/waiver pool so thin, he would be gone already.

On draft day it was between Royal and Desean Jackson in like the 6th round. I'm glad I didn't take Royal. He one of FFs biggest dissapointments of the year after 2 weeks.

Harvin in one league.

DeSean Jackson in the other, if he's not healthy enough it'll be Burleson this week.

PPR, Start 3 WR -- couldn't possibly be more disappointed by Royal.

This week, both Jericho Cotchery & Ted Ginn start above him, alongside Steve Smith (CAR).

But I'd consider Breaston & Nate Washington over him also.

Royal was my WR3 after my draft. Driver and Manningham have moved ahead of him. Earl Bennet and Michal Jenkins have both outscored him, but I don't think I'd start either of them over Royal.

Percy Harvin or Steve Smith (NYG) are now my number 3 WR until Royal shows something. Have not dropped him yet, but if he does not show something before the bye weeks hit, that could change

Laurent has pushed Royal to the #5 spot and Marshall to the #6 spot. Right now, Laurent is my bye week filler.

I was lucky enough to get the Giants Steve Smith on waivers after week one so I'll be starting himself this week.

Am I alone in thinking that this will be the week he's benched by a majority of us (if not all of us) and he'll go crazy on Sunday?

I have the misfortune of having Royal at WR1 and SMoss at WR2 after following FBGs custom cheat sheet and going best available for the furst 7 rounds. I just picked up LRobinson, but he has a pretty bad matchup this week. By the way, Royal got that most targets (9) last week.

I really haven't had the misfortune to watch a Broncos game yet. However, I really find it hard to believe it is as bad as it looks for the first to weeks. Royal is a talent. So is Marshall. Orton is a solid game managing type QB.

Last week Orton completed 14 passes to WRs, good for 206 yards or 14.7 yard per completion. Orton's YPA was a solid 7.1.

From the reports I read, Royal sat out the 3rd quarter with dehydration. Marshall sat out the 2nd quarter because he's not really ready to go with the playbook. (if I am getting that correctly)

Royal got 9 targets, and Marshall 6. Those are decent totals for both of them playing 3 quarters of football. Stokley got 7 and Gaffney 5. The RBs were targeted 7 times, and TEs 3.

The yardage spread ended up very poor for Royal (20) and Marshall (34). But if they would have gotten the totals of Stokley (70) and Gaffney (82) would we be having this conversation?

This is a new offensive system for all the players here the first two weeks have played out poorly for Royal and Marshall. I seriously doubt that Stokley and Gaffney will be leading this team in receiving yards much longer. You can make an argument that McDaniels is an idiot, but his offense in NE got the ball to Moss and Welker a lot, even with Cassell as the QB.

Obviously this is a work in progress. Orton missed time in the preseason with the finger injury, Marshall did as well being an idiot. It may take a while for this passing offense to really get going. But I think dropping these guys is a serious mistake. The Broncos have one of the better offensive lines in football, and they will give Orton time.

If you have better options, I'd say start them for now, but I think this situation is going to get a whole lot better for Royal and Marshall.

Now I'm just getting silly, my claim for Sims-Walker went through, I put him in my starting lineup in the 3rd league I own Royal and slid Eddie to the bench. We'll see if I change that between now and SUnday...

in a redraft I'm starting Manningham and Harvin over Royal (who I drafted as my #2 WR) both last week and moving forward. I might even move him behind Knox and Mason at this point.

Royal was targeted 9 times in 3 quarters last week, so if he doesn't cramp he might have had a whopping 12+ targets. I'm not giving up on him. Seems like another early FF panic. I've always made a living trading for/picking these fruits off the September vine.

Royal is mega dart-quick, caught 90 passes as a rookie. Gimme 8-10 weekly targets and a few more touches off punt returns/end-arounds, and I'll show you my flex guy.

Asomugha will stay outside with Marshall this Sunday and try to wall off the island. Royal could bust out.

Considering he caught 3 passes with 9 targets, that means he would've caught 4 passes if he had gotten 12. Still very underwhelming.Targets don't mean a whole lot if the passes aren't catchable.

Asomugha will line up on one side of the field and stay there. He will not shadow Marshall since he doesn't shadow WRs. He stays on the same side of the field and whichever WR lines up there is the one he defends on each play.

I read this offseason he was possibly going to shadow the opposing #1, you sure he's still just playing one side of the field? and not shadowing the opposing #1?

I didn't see last week's game so I don't know if he did in that game. But he didn't do it in Week 1 against the Chargers. He stayed on one side of the field the whole game just like he has in the past. Some plays he matched up against Jackson and other times against Chambers.

I don't think people are waiving Royal just yet, so I wouldn't call it "panic." But he needs to be sat down on the FF bench until he starts to produce.

I'm rolling with S. Moss over him this week. Obviously not thrilled with his production to date either, but can't pass up his matchup against the Lions. I played Holt over him last week and just added Knox who may get the nod over Royal in future weeks if Cutler continues to look his way.
