Hawaii on Sunday for 3 weeks, and yes I'll be making North Shore trips. I'm hoping for a couple of really big days too sit back and watch and lots of medium size days for me.

Wow. Nice. Slow winter here so far. First trip to the North Shore for me was insane. Drive up and it was HUGE. Grabbed a sixer and set up shop at Waimea. The whole thing was surreal -- the vibe and awesomeness of it all. People everywhere buzzing around to watch the spectacle. Pipe was unrideable, although a veteran bodysurfer tried to brave it the next day when the swell began to drop. He washed up with most of the skin on his back gone. It was bad. Few days later 3rd reef pipe was as fun to watch as any spectator sport I've ever been to. Got some great footage of it all, including the Pipe Masters. Finally paddled out day 4...Anyway, you on Oahu the whole time?

Yeah, they are expecting a huge uproar over the superferry going back in the water so I'll be working but off early enough to jam up to the north shore when the waves are big. I'll probably cruise up there after landing at noon on Sunday for a surf if it is in the 4-6 range.
