Who has the better rest of the year? (1 Viewer)

No one thought coming into the season that we would even be mentioning these guys as possible pickups but here we are. From her on who will have the better season?

The Bears are letting Grossman throw because they've had (very) comfortable leads in both games. But I don't see that happening every week. Once the games tighten up you'll see more handoffs to Jones & Benson.

The Jets, however, are going to be trailing every week. I'd love to have either one of them, but Pennington's my pick.

I think the Jets have one of the easiest passing schedules of the year. Its one reason I grabbed Pennington last week and will be targeting Coles.

I'm still wary as hell about Pennington, though. His arm - never strong to begin with - seems even weaker. That hail mary pass at the end of the game barely made the 25 yard line. They should have put someone in that could wing it into the end zone (and its not like the Jets were on their own 10 yard line either).

Honestly, he's not going to even be THROWING those kind of hail mary's though. His passes during the game were fine (he was throwing 35 - 40 yards with nary a problem) and his speed on short passes is adequate. His receiving corps is where the money is to be made, so expect about 230 - 260 yards with 2 TDs a game from him

he is not gonna throw 32 TDs

I was thinking Pennington as he has had success before and as was said before the jets should be behind a lot. BTW anybody heard anything about Martin? Has he retired yet?

I have noticed a trend for the good teams to rely on the run more and more as a season wears on and the closer they get to the playoffs. I don't have statistical analysis for this but I've seen it before and history has a way of repeating itself. Therefore, I think most teams have been expecting CHI to run the ball all season long and have "probably" been playing the run and CHI is making them pay with the pass. So I expect Berrian to have great numbers early and tailing of late perhaps and more importantly I expect TJones or CBenson to start lighting it up the closer we get to the playoffs. Grossman should have a good year but I expect his production to tail off at some point unless he continues to use the TE's for TD's the way he has so far and that wouldn't surprise me either.

Pennington: Great QB/WR schedule for both regular season and fantasy playoffs, very good WR's, poor RB's, good chance of them not being a good team and having to play from behind.

All in all I'd rather have Pennington since all I'm looking for is a backup QB to protect my season in case QB1 goes down, bye week protection, strenghth of schedule matchups and perhaps trade bait if QB2 goes off.

:goodposting: Grossman is an excellent "sell high" candidate.T. Jones & Benson are excellent "buy low" candidates.

I know it is a who is going to have a better year; but, it is tough to know which QB to select without knowing your other QB. Maybe you only have one QB, which Pennington would be my pick because of schedule. There is a bunch of analysis out there to suggest match-ups play a huge role in this thing and one may compliment you better.
