Until I hear otherwise, I'm assuming that Holmes will be able to play and will be the backup. And by backup I mean getting 20% of the carries if LJ is healthy and 60-65% if LJ were to get injured.

Holmes could lose a leg and still be a better RB than Griffin. Dee Brown is the question mark, but I don't expect that barring catastrophic injuries that we'll ever find out how he'd perform in extended duty in KC.

Last I heard, Holmes was not medically cleared to play and the team was preparing for life without him. This is not to say that he won't be back, only that he's not ready to go and there are still a ton of questions on if he'll be willing and able to play again.

They don't expect him to come back. Normally the guy pops up and makes some appearances and stuff like that but he hasn't even done that. Like I said...it's as if he's "moved on".

Excuse me for seeming skeptical, but I got roundly scorched a couple of years ago the season after Holmes got hurt late in the previous season against DEN and a lot of people here acted as though Holmes' career was over, while Holmes worked out away from KC & showed up in great shape (after staying away & rehabbing by pulling tractors & such) & turned in a stellar season.I think I'll give Holmes the benefit of the doubt - like his Owner & HC - until I hear otherwise.

But is there any reason to think that the fans are better informed than Herm Edwards or Carl Peterson?I think the only solid conclusion we can reach for now is that Holmes' future is uncertain. I wouldn't count him out, but I wouldn't count him in, either.

There's a little blurb to that affect near the bottom of this article. It's just referring to udfa tryouts though. There was a report on a message board from a camp watcher saying Ross looked good, then he was finally signed today, or late yesterday.

There's little to go on here. If you're desperate to handcuff LJ it's foggy. Ross and Howard are both in the mold, big bruisers with good speed and vision. Q and Dee Brown? I could see both rooks making the roster.

Sure, but he's a no risk guy to carry while most dynasty relax roster limits. You wait and see if he makes the team, and drop him if he doesnt.

That won't fly for those of us drafting now. I've taken the position that he won't be back and see more value in Griffin than Holmes. I could be wrong, but in order to make a draft board I have to draw conclusions.

To soon to annoint Q as LJ's backup even if Priest is done (which he probably is). They brought in two big physical backs for a reason. Q may be little more than CoP. He may not make the team. Howard and/or Ross could impress enough to be the backup. They could still sign a vet.
