Look at this link from May of this year, SA talking about the Madden curse and being "blessed to be on cover".

It's all about the money and celebrity my friends, curse no curse, broken bones or not.

I was thinking the same thing.As a Saints fan, I would have mixed feelings. I'd love to see us get that kind of national attention, but it would hurt like hell if Brees went down.

If the Chargers go deep into the playoffs, count on it.

IIRC LT turned down being on the cover this past year or the year before. If I remember correctly I thought he said he at least paid a bit of attention to the Curse. Then you have to look at that Madden normally doesn't do two players at the same position on back to back years. I would think that they are due for a WR. Maybe Steve Smith?

I think he has been on the regional cover the past 10 years....You'd have to think LJ or LT if it is a RB.For a QB, Peyton or Brady.For a WR, most likely would probably be Holt.If they went D, probably Urlacher.

I'm absolutely a believer in both the Madden curse and the Chunky curse.

I have LT in two dynasty leagues and if he makes the cover, I will deal him before the season.

As for Chunky, every year the guy has been hurt too. Most recent was last year with McNabb and this year with both Roethlisberger and Hasselbeck. Big Ben was, if what I read is true, on his way to a commercial shoot on his bike when he had his accident.

I'm a believer.

the way things are going right now, and the way Peyton manning's making commercials and endorsing himself, he's very likely to be on the cover. I also have a horrible feeling that Larry Johnson will be on the cover, which I am absolutely dreading since I own him in 2 dynasty leagues. (plleeaasseeee no LJ)

edit to add: I think it also depends on who goes deep into the playoffs. I don't think the Cheifs will, so that should make the LJ owners feel better

my mistake. However since George it has gone. Culpepper, Faulk, Vick, Ray Lewis, McNabb, Alexander. Whatever new little feature they put in the game is going to decide who goes on the cover. I would bet on a WR.

Hopefully they don't put any player on the cover and use that money and time on development. This years 360 version was a slap in the face to "next gen" owners. I actually contacted EA and told them I wanted my money back. They let me ship them my copy back and they sent me a check.

Why would Lawrence Tynes be on the cover of Madden, what has he done?I guess that's who you are thinking of, because thats the only other player, right of the top of my head, with the initials LT that is currently playing.

Also if you did mean Tomlinson, and you had a typo, then there's a 100% chance he'll turn it down again, because like someone already mentioned in this thread, he's already turned it down, mentioning the curse as one of the reasons. Alexander going down will only enforce his earlier decisions on the matter.
