I have Felix Hernandez and we have no reserves, jsut who we draft is who starts. no moves except for guys on the DL (i.e., no free agency but if you have a guy on the DL or sent to minors you can pick up an available player at that position and you lose the rights to the guy you dump).

Non-keeper league.

Another owner dropped Carpenter when he went on the DL.

Do I wait and see which one comes back healthier or do I make the jump now and dump Felix to pick up Carpenter.

5x5 scoring, non-keeper league.

Theoretically I could get Carpenter now as a DL move and then hope no one picks up felix before May 15th when we are allowed to make one of our two free agent moves for the year.

Or do I hold Felix and wait to see if Carpenter is available on May 15th...I doubt it. If he is gone I could pick up either Accardo or Cabrera if they take over as closers. Not much else out there. I really need to get Vincente Padilla off my staff as he is killing me.

Why wouldn't someone who drafted a player who is now on the DL ( and there certaintly are enough of them) pickup Carpenter and drop the lesser valued player who was hurt. I would lean with Carpenter but that really is a tough call. I hate to pile on but STL has looked very bad this year as a team not only on the field, but off it as well with Hancock's death. I am getting a feeling it may be a very long year to be a Cardinal.
