Gasper, Globe Staff October 23, 2008 01:24 PM FOXBOROUGH -- The Patriots are holding their afternoon practice at the upper field behind Gillette Stadium, but running backs Sammy Morris (knee) and LaMont Jordan (right calf) were not among the players spotted during the media portion of practice. In all seven players, including Morris and Jordan, were missing during the media portion of the practice, which is being held in light shoulder pads (shells) and sweatpants. The other players not present were:CB Lewis Sanders (hamstring)LB Eric Alexander (hamstring)OT Nick Kaczur (right ankle)DL Jarvis Green (right ankle)LB Shawn Crable (shin)Wide receiver and special teams ace Kelley Washington, who has not played since the game against the Jets on Sept. 14, returned to practice after an extended absence. He was at Wednesday session, but that was a walkthrough, which often features injured players. Five players were wearing black jerseys as the team's designated Practice Players of the Week for their work in preparing the team for Monday night's victory over the Denver Broncos. The blackshirts were quarterback Matt Gutierrez, wide receiver Sam Aiken, tight end Tyson DeVree, linebacker Vince Redd and defensive lineman Titus Adams. ____________OK, I'm stumped. Nothing making sense AT ALL anymore.
