I'm inclined to say in order: Williams, Hampton, Wilfork. But they're all pretty close. Curious how others see it.
Yup.Pat Williams
He's not?Tank Johnson!Guess he's not in the NFL though...
Should have signed Tank no question about it.amnesiac said:i dunno, but i think the Browns need one of 'em.
My fault -- Read it as DT not NT.Williams is my choice.Pat Williams deserves to be in the discussion. Haloti Ngata and Kelly Gregg aren't pure nose tackles, but both play enough like one to be considered. Haynesworth isn't a NT.I like ACPs original order -- Williams (better at collapsing the pocket than Hampton), then Hampton. Wilfork and Williams behind a half tier.

I think it's close. Both Williams and Hampton can get from sideline-to-sideline, and while I posted that Williams is better at collapsing the pocket, I'd bet that Hampton could be nearly as disruptive in a predominantly one gap scheme.Jamal WIlliams and it's not even close..."You want to learn how to play NT, watch Jamal Williams"...that would be John Madden gushing over Jamal last season. Are there other good NT...of course there is...every body is going to vote for their home team favorite.
You can rightfully call me a lot of names, but I don't believe blind homer is one of them. I said up top that Williams tops my list, but to say that Hampton isn't close to him is silly.Jamal WIlliams and it's not even close...
I think Hampton is also a fine NT, I just have gotten to watch a lot of SD games when I lived in SoCal, certainly not a Chargers fan but Williams can just blow up the middle of the line. I like Hampton a lot too but I see him more as holding the fort down while the LB behind him clean up everything...I think both would be the building blocks of a great defense. You can rightfully call me a lot of names, but I don't believe blind homer is one of them. Was going to post the same thing.Anthony Borbely said:It's too bad Shaun Rogers didn't play hard on every snap, because he is a beast at NT.
Do you like have a huge gut or something? You guys have done a great job discussing the true elite guys. I want to give a shout out to some of the geezers who are still bringing it: Grady Jackson (ATL), Ted Washington (CLE), Keith Traylor (MIA), and Sam Adams (DEN) - I like it a huge gut is not only something that doesnt bar you from being a good player in the NFL - but it can actually be an asset!
Pat Williams and kelly Gregg should be in there. Of course any question like this should discuss the type of scheme being runI'm inclined to say in order: Williams, Hampton, Wilfork. But they're all pretty close. Curious how others see it.
No, but Im working on it.Buddha had a big gut, so they can't be all bad.Do you like have a huge gut or something? You guys have done a great job discussing the true elite guys. What was his bench press?Buddha had a big gut, so they can't be all bad.
The way he's been playing, he has to be in the mix. That sack of Leftwich jumping over the center was just RIDICULOUS.Albert Haynesworth.
