Who is the best option at 3B? (1 Viewer)

I have Chipper as my starting (and only) third basemen. As much as I hope he does, I just don't see him making it through the season healthy. Who do you think would be the best pickup to back him up?

(A few from the top of the WW list):

Kouzmanoff

Rolen

Chavez

Blake

Iwamura

Huff

Crede

Mora

Reynolds

Stewart

Freel

Given that you are only looking for someone who won't kill you in the event Chipper goes down, Chavez makes some sense. You know he will be playing every day and producing a little bit. However, if you are looking for someone with upside, I think Reynolds could play his way into your lineup somehow.

I'd go w/ Kouzmanoff too. Iwamura might deserve some consideration because he can also be a backup at 2B & MI

ETA: Bill Hall will gain 3B eligibility as soon as your league rules allow. People tend to put too much emphasis on last year's stats and forget that he hit 35 HRs in 2006

Rolen is healthy and playing in much more hitter friendly park than Busch.
:pickle: I think Rolen is a great sleeper pick with more upside than anyone on that list including Kouzmanoff who might find himself out of a job next year when San Diego realizes how much better Chase Headley is.

On a sidenote, whatever happened to the previous SD 3rd base prospect Sean Burroughs? He just disappeared.

This sums it up:
Burroughs is no longer a viable baseball player, much less someone you should concern yourself with in Fantasy. As a prospect, he was a poor man's Dave Magadan, but Burroughs will never get a job as a hitting coach. His career peaked in the Little League World Series.

"ouch"I'm guessing his 1999 Bowman Chrome isn't worth much. :excited:
