When Barber was drafted last year there was a consensus that Maroney was the better RB at Minnesota. After Barber played better than expected for the Cowboys it did a lot for Maroney in my eyes since if Barber could be a succesful RB then Maroney should do at least as well. However, Maroney was surpassed by Greg Russell - at least statistically - in 2005 and it has made me wonder about him.
I have two thought about Maroney:
1) He's over-rated and isn't as good as advertised and maybe Barber was a better back than him.
or
2) He has been very effective and is talented so it shouldn't matter how he did in relation to his teammates, similar to the situations with Bush and Cadillac.
