Who is the biggest surprise on your fantasy team? (1 Viewer)

who on your squad has exceed your expectations? mines would be owen daniels. and to think, people were telling me to pick up greg olsen instead? i am so glad i followed my own instincts!!!

The main guy for me is Ricky Williams. Drafted him to handcuff Ronnie Brown in my redraft league, and he's just racked up loads of points every week, unfortunately for my bench. Actually considered starting him and Ronnie this week due to bye's, but opted for LJ instead in the RB2 slot. Fortunately I still managed a win.

In my keeper, I drafted Cedric Benson in the 7th just expecting a solid RB who was gonna get carries, and liking his early season schedule. I wasn't drinking the kool-aid that some here were, and my plan was to sell high if he capitalized on that early season schedule, but thankfully I held on to him.

Ray Rice. Thought he would be good but not this good. On the flip side, the biggest negative surprise was Witten. I really thought he would be the usual stud.

So this is a thread where having your team in your sig is ok? lol I think Thomas Jones has been a pleasant surprise. I drafted Curtis Martin the year after he lead the league ....the same year he vanshed almost completely. I was afraid the same thing would happen with Jones.... Derrick Mason as well has been a pleasant surprise. I actually dropped him but got him back the following week.

Probably Hines Ward. I was expecting WR2 numbers from him but with the exception of yesterday he's put up pretty consistent WR1 numbers. Love that Pitt. has become a pass first team. Honorable mention to Chad Ochocinco but going in to the season you knew he had the potential; it was just whether the team and he lived up to that potential.

Mike Sims Walker, a guy I took a flyer on strictly from the thread here as a junk #6 Wr, he has filled my Byes (Wayne and Fitz) extremely well and in now entrenched as my #3 wr.

Nobody...I had some good pickups, but my drafts was pretty much as expected with a few disappointments. Fortunate to be 5-2 in both my leagues.

Without question it's Ricky Williams. I have yet to start him over the likes of Benson/Turner/P.Thomas/Lynch (Freddie during the susp) yet he's outperformed all but Cedric Benson so far this year. My hats off to him. Even with him on my bench I'm 6-1, thankfully

ETA: I'm most surprised Witten has been so average.

Ricky Williams without a doubt. I picked him up for peanuts on the Waiver Wire in my dynasty before the season, and he's been a start on my team ever since.

Ray Rice, and that's even with being a fan of his.

I guess it's a personality quirk, but I tend to have high expectations for my players, or else I wouldn't acquire them. Thus, typically it's other people's players exceeding expectations. My surprises have mostly been disappointments: Bowe, Houshmandzadeh, Holmes, Witten. I thought all of them would be posting better numbers than they are. Instead, KC and Seattle have floundered and Pittsburgh's thriving with Miller, Ward, and Wallace. Witten's been so rock solid for years that it's painful to see him have a pedestrian season.

I drafted Benson as my 4th RB, after Leon Washington. I didn't have high expectations going in except for bye week filler, now I struggle each week deciding between him and Ronnie Brown.

if this was started two week ago I would have said, Jerricho Cotchery.

but at this point I will say Ben Roethlisberger.

In one of my league it's Kyle Orton and Ray Rice.

In my other league Steve Smith NYG and Mike Sims Walker. I also picked up Miles Austin in that league last week so its pretty conceivable that all my starting WR's going forward will be WW pick ups.

Same along with Donald Driver. I believed in boths ability but their consistency last year was not good.

Positive - Sidney Rice went from developmental dynasty stash to WR3 in my lineup. :bag:

Negative - Matt Forte has disappeared from the radar screen.

Flacco - thought he might be a decent bye week guy, perhaps more when facing the right opponent. Did not expect him to be a top 10 QB in my league to this point of the season.

I agree with Donald Driver - putting up much better numbers than I anticipated

Schaub has outperformed most people's expectations, bu it would unfortunately be a lie to say he has exceeded mine...

Sydney Rice

Cedric Benson

A 6th rounder to be my backup to AD/Grant and a guy I picked up off waivers because I thought it looked like Favre went to him with more important throws...

Those two guys are absolutely going above and beyond my expectations.

Flacco

Sims-Walker

Brent Celek

Liked them all a lot but never didn't expect all of them to be stud performers the way they have been.

Favre (didn't think he'd pass this much and be quite so effecient)

Ray Rice (I was high on him, but not this high)

G Jennings (surprised it is Driver breaking most of the long TDs)

D Manning (despite loosing KR duties, he is still a very productive IDP at Safety)

Last year he had good games but followed them with 20 yard games. This year he is very consistent. Those who said he is done(including Packer fans) and I had our disagreements.

I will add Witten, more of a negative surprise. like a lot took him as the 1st TE and he is ranked 14th in my league, while D Owens is #1(played 1 extra week). with the 1st TE off you would expect at least a top 5 performance.

my 2 so called top WR's after the draft were TO and S. Smith (carolina). Nice, I am a little surprised thay both suck ### this year. Miles Austin and Syd Rice have saved me to the tune 0f 4-3.

Ray Rice - I reached a little for him, but it's paid off thus far

Vernon Davis - thought I'd have a backup TE with some upside...didn't think he'd become a must start

Same here. I was hoping Rice would be a serviceable #3 RB. I drafted Witten in two leagues and color me disappointed. My others would be Steve Smith (NYG) on the happy side and Bowe on the sad side.

Rice

Schaub

Daniels

Biggest disappointment has been Pierre Thomas. First, I didn't realize he was banged up heading into the season which cost him 2 weeks. Next, I didn't realize Bell was competing with him. I don't follow the Saints that close, but I remembered how good PT was late last year so I jumped at him in rd 5. Hopefully he gets it going and becomes the clear #1, which is doubtfull due to Bell playing well. Total RBBC imo.

Thomas Jones

I tried to trade him the first 6 weeks...now he is growing on me.

Mike Sims Walker was a late round flier that has paid off extremely well.

For me, it's Addai (5th round pick), Hester (8th round pick), Sidney Rice (13th round pick) and Brent Celek (14th round pick).

The Eagles DST! And Big Ben.

Had a feeling about Ced, but didn't have the nads to take him in the 4th. Too bad...

my team on paper should suck...i drafted manning but have managed to pick up on the waiver wire (ours is first come first serve)

miles austin

sims-walker

vernon davis

steve smith

that after drafting antonio bryant, ted ginn and donnie avery. I have been riding those guys to weekly victories
