Who is the Dolphins WR2? (1 Viewer)

I am hearing conflicting evidence on who is the Dolphins WR2? Is is Camarillo, Bess, Hartline, or some committee of 2 or 3?

Looking forward to the rookie that they get, Patrick Turner. He looks really good, hopefully he earns the #3 spot to prove himself.

As far as the #2 spot, that belongs to Camarillo most likely.

The final preseason game was basically an audition for the #2 spot between Camarillo and Bess. Bess had the better game, although he didn't do much in the previous 3 preseason games.

I would look for Camarillo to start the year at #2, with Bess getting a lot of playing time and eventually taking his spot.

So, your evidence is some guy's blog post which says "Hartline now finds himself battling Greg Camarillo for the No. 2" and "If Hartline wins the spot"? There's no real information there. Just speculation from a blogger.Furthermore, the story in your link is from September 2 -- before Thursday's game, in which HARTLINE DIDN'T EVEN START and FAILED TO MAKE A SINGLE CATCH.

Yeah, he's starter material.

Fanball has it listed that the South Florida Sun-Sentinal is stating that Camarillo will start at flanker. Couldn't find the actual article on the Sun-Sentinal site stating that, so take that for what it's worth.

I read Camarillo but googling it does seem like all speculation

As a BP student, I wonder if Sparano will give us a concrete answer and if it'll mean anything. I don't care who the #2 is if he's sharing the rock early and often with someone else

Also IIRC Hartline is a former QB so he may be in for some trickery or just the threat of trickery

This.Patrick Turner will be inactive most games to start the season. Brian Hartline was just a guy they were testing the preseaon...he did well, but he's not going to be the starter right now.Ted G will be their 4 receptions for 65 yards guy...Greg Camarillo will be their 5 receptions for 50 yards guy....Devone Bess will be their slot man...3-4 receptions for 30-40 yards guy...Brian Hartline will be a typical 4th man...a reception here and there but nothing to depend on.that's what we should expect.

Exactly.Bess is their full time slot guy and Camarillo if he has no set backs will be entrenched as the #2. Hartline is a nice training camp story but will have to rally do some amazing things to overtake Camarillo and Bess.

I don't think Cammy is the #2, in fact I would probably put him at #4 right now. Hes not even a year removed from an ACL injury. His reps are going to be seriously limited through most of the season.

Right now, Bess is listed officially as #2. But, I think Hartline ends up as their WR2 this year.

Camarillo will be starter. To take him away from Pennington, would be like removing his right hand. In PPR leagues, Camarillo will be the leading WR in Miami. He will likely be close if not the #1 in Non-ppr formats.

I think Bess is the Dolphins receiver to have this year. Pennington looks for him a lot and will likely lead the team in targets. If you play in PPR, hes the guy to have.

yep, even if he's not in on 2 WR sets, he'll get plenty of work in the slot on passing downs and Pennington will look for him to convert those 3rd and 6's

It may be Camarillo right now but he's still not a year removed from the ACL thing. That said they'll monitor him and see how his knee's doing. They certainly don't want to overwork him and have something happen again. Bess will then probably see more targets early on until they're sure about Camarillo's knee.Yes, he's a favorite target of Pennington but so was Bess late last year. I think you could see similar numbers from both as I don't think Ginn is gonna be head and shoulders above those two. Pennington will go to his comfort zone and TE Fasano could figure into that and see an increase in targets since he's now the primary TE.

I don't think I'd want to name a #2 guy there right now but take a wait and see approach. I think Camarillo is a better talent than Bess but Bess is an overachiever and will work hard to get targets. I had Bess and Camarillo in a PPR league and traded away Camarillo for Hightower so I'd have both rb's from Arizona(Beanie Wells), Felt Camarillo had better trade value and wanted to cover RB Wells and I was right. Might not have got the trade done had I offered Bess. I'll still take my chances with Bess as he won't be an every week starter for me anyhow.Having both Arizona RB's I least have options with them now.
