GB Javi and Yovani tonight. K's are in the bag.
I'm in an interesting situation: Fifth year of our league, I'm in the finals against a guy who was the doormat for the first three years. Horrible, every year. Last year he does respectably and lucks into the playoffs, and I edge him in the semis. This year, he strikes gold offensively (A-Rod, Hanley, Morneau, Sheff (who I got from him), Ordonez), but his pitching is brutal. Even still, he probably has the best team just on sheer offensive strength. My team is the opposite.
So Sunday's slate wraps up and he's up 6-4: all offensive categories (although only steals is out of reach), and he's up on saves, 3-2. He sends me an email saying phew, that was close, I'm spending my winnings on a GPS (first is $350, 2nd is $250)...not apparently realizing we still have a week to go. His lineup didn't really need adjusting (mine does. A LOT), but I didn't say anything. I'm debating when I should break the news. It's a weekly transactions league btw, so he's not really missing out on anything. If he ends up winning, it'd be hilarious to tell him at the draft next year, although I really feel I should tell him before then.
He has 8 starts left, I have 4, but I'm up 3 Quality Starts and my pitchers are a lot better than his. I also have 3 closers to his 2, so I figure I can close the gap there as well. ERA, K's and WHIP are all safely in my control.
