Who makes the playoffs in the AFC? (1 Viewer)

I think that SD and Indy have locked. And I think that the Bengals and Patriots will take their divisions. But who will the wildcards be? Who do you think will win the wildcard spots? And who would you like to see? I'd love to see either the Steelers, Titans, or Dolphins make it. But I think that the Broncos and Baltimore get in, both teams finish at 9-7. I think Baltimore can be dangerous, but if the Broncos make it to the playoffs they will be one and done. I think that the Steelers, Titans or Dolphins would be a tougher match up. All three can play tough D and can run the football.

team (current wins, division wins, conf record)

mia (7, 4, 5-5) - hou, pit -- probably needs to win out and finish 9, 4, 7 to force common games record tiebreaker*

nyj (7, 2, 5-5) - @ind, cin -- ind might sit, but I think the fat man has sung

bal (8, 3, 6-4) - @pit, @oak -- oak has actually surprised on occasion, but you'd think balt could at least finish 9, 3, 7 even w/a loss to pit

pit (7, 1, 4-6) - bal, @mia -- win out, den and jax split?

jax (7, 3, 6-4) - @ne, @cle -- could be in at 9, 3, 8 if they win out

ten (7, 2, 4-7) - sd, @sea -- screwed on tiebreaker

hou (7, 1, 4-6) - @mia, ne --- see ten^

den (8, 3, 6-5) - @phi, kc -- you'd think they could at least beat kc to finish 9, 4, 7, but lose H2H to bal + pit

H2H tiebreakers (winner bolded):

nyj v hou

nyj v ten

nyj v mia

nyj v mia

nyj v jax

mia v jax

mia v ten

mia v hou tba

mia v pit tba

bal v den

bal v pit

bal v pit tba

pit v ten

pit v den

jax v hou

jax v hou

jax v ten

jax v ten

ten v hou

ten v hou

* common games record tiebreaker -- no idea who has advantage

I'd say its no longer a given that the Bengals win the AFC North. Yes, the Bengals must lose their final two and the Ravens must win their final two for the Ravens to win the division, but that certainly is not impossible.

However it all goes down im just hoping the Titans make it in. get to see what CJ can do in the playoffs and to go 0-6 and make it to the playoffs would be nuts.

I'll just pick every game for the last two weeks and then see what the playoff field looks like:

Week 16:

sdg@ten: ten

jax@nwe: nwe

hou@mia: mia

bal@pit: bal

kan@cin: cin

nyj@ind: ind

den@phi: phi

Week 17:

pit@mia: pit

nwe@hou: hou

jax@cle: jax

cin@nyj: nyj

bal@oak: bal

kan@den: den

ten@sea: ten

was@sdg: sdg

#1 Colts

#2 Chargers 12-4

#3/#4 Patriots 10-6*

#3/#4 Bengals 10-6*

#5 Ravens 10-6

#6 Broncos 9-7

*Patriots did not play Bengals this year. Both finish 7-5 in AFC. Both went 2-2 vs common opponents, seeding comes down to strength of victory, which has yet to be determined. Current strength of victory: nwe-54 wins, cin-52 wins. I think the odds favor the Patriots winning strength of victory. In that case...

#6 Broncos @ #3 Patriots

#5 Ravens @ #4 Bengals

I don't know how I feel about either game at the moment.
