Who do you think should win the N.L. Manager of the Year? I voted for LaRussa. I know I am a Cardinals fan, but I am not the biggest fan of LaRussa. That being said, he did get them into contention with only a couple of weeks left in the season with that terrible starting rotation and most of his starting position players hurt. He definitely won't win, but he does deserve consideration.

I think this will be a close race as there is not really a front runner, IMO.

Phillies had a poor starting rotation and a ton of injuries this year and won a better division.

Pinella... I don't think many publications gave the Cubs a chance this year...
 They spent a ton of money in the offseason. I don't know if I'd say they were the favorites, but I don't think it's much of a surprise they are division champs.I voted for Clint Hurdle, although I wouldn't have an argument with Bob Melvin.

Spending a lot of money doesn't mean that you are a lock to win the division...

How can it not be Unca Chollie.
Because the guy in Colorado has done more with less :blackdot:
Unca Chollie lost more people to injury than just about anyone this year. Plus, he won a division.
Thats true and he did a phenomenal job. With that said, the Rockies weren't picked to do anything this year. They're a very young team and have no business being where they are. Also, they have the exact same record as the Phils so I don't see how your point about the Phils winning the division is relevant. The NL west was a better division than the NL east.

If I was going with the very young team with no business being where they are I'd go with the D-Backs manager.

Well, Melvin didn't win our poll, but he did win the one that matters. What a challenge this year in the N.L. to pick the manager of the year. Any number of guys were deserving to win. Congrats to Melvin on a job well done.
