Both are coming back this week....

Who do you think plays better the rest of the way and becomes the number one target?

Thoughts?

I like Branch, and Engram is old, but look what he did last year? Tough one, any word from the Seattle homers???

:blackdot:

I have Branch in one league and Engram in another....I'll get back to you in a few weeks. :thanks: I would have grabbed Engram over Branch if he was available in the one league.

i have engram and branch in one and just engram in another. i'm not sure there is a right/wrong answer to this question (unless it's ppr where the general consensus has to be that engram > branch).

I've seen Engram listed as a PPR must play for this week. Anyone actually starting either of these guys this week? I understand their potential for the rest of the season, but what about @ NYG?

Seattle homer here.

Hasselbeck is salivating at getting his favorite target back this week. That target is Engram.

I consider myself a Seattle homer too, but I just don't see it. This offense has historically targeted the crap out of the flanker. That's not Engram this year. It might be if Branch isn't full speed, but for the moment it looks like Engram will be back in the slot. I watched Engram benefit last year from injuries to both Branch and Hackett.I currently own both players in my league. Not going to be starting either one this week in NY. Hopefully one will emerge as the first option in the passing game. Not sure that I have a preference, but I believe the coaching staff would prefer that target to be Branch.

I wouldn't start either this week as well. Seattle historically struggles on the road. If I were to start either my crystal balls say you should start engram. In fact, if I had my choice for the remainder of the year. I'd again choose engram. Branch has shown me nothing since he arrived here in seattle.

due to byes/boldins injury i'm starting engram at flex. i'd be happy with 4 catches for 50 yards.

Truthfully, I think he was a mistake. Not as big a mistake as Hutch, but maybe on the same order of magnitude of resigning Alexander.

Hopefully he proves me wrong this year. But I doubt it.

700 yds per season is not what I envision out of a starting no 1 WR on a team running the west coast offense. Branch has never had a 1000 yd season, and I don't think he'll have one as long as he's with seattle. Its time for him to #### or get off the pot.

I can't argue with this. He's not what we were hoping for. That much is certain. Will he be? Honestly, I have my doubts too.

It doesn't help that he's coming back from a major knee injury quicker than most would expect. This is why I think Engram is the guy to have.

This conversation between Frank Hughes (Tacoma News Tribune - Seahawks beat writer) is very telling in my opinion. Notice the comment by the second reader. So many people just are assuming that Engram is starting. Yes, I expect he'll get more targets than McMullen, but when they go with two receiver packages Engram will likely be watching from the sidelines. That said, I expect lots of three receiver sets. I'll be playing very close attention to this dynamic on Sunday.

Frank, you mentioned yesterday that McMullen was working at split end with Engram playing the slot. Was that still the case today? And if so does that mean McMullen will get the start over Engram?

Engram not start, come on.

McMullen is staying at split end. Engram will come in as the slot. I think they really like McMullen's size (6-4) and his ability to get separation. He did pretty well in the last game and they like what they have seen from him in practices.

Like others, I've grabbed Engram but he's sitting at least this week. I'll start Meachem over him this week and see how Engram does.

Same, and starting another WR from that game at WR3, Lance Moore.I hope engram has a good game though, it will make me feel better putting him in for the future.

If you're a subscriber, this topic was discussed in our week five fantasy roundtable that is scheduled to be released sometime tonight. We shared some good thoughts and opinions on who the better Seattle WR will be. Personally, I like Engram. I think it's hard to discount his 94 catches last year, however it may come down to who's healthier from the start and who gets nicked up as the season wears on. My money is still on Engram.
