Who to Target in Round 2 of Rookie Draft (1 Viewer)

Lots of speculation on picks 1 to 10 and discussion of the lack of depth for offensive rookies.

Folks have said that if you pick at the end of the first to trade up or trade out of the rookie draft.

But for many of us, we WILL pick in the second round and WILL want to find players to help our dynasty teams.

So which players (assume PPR I guess) might have the best chance of contributing for our teams in picks 11 to 20?

Forty Views and no replies so let me try to stimulate discussion.

Here are the first 13 picks from a rookie draft that has been posted.

1. Bryant, Dez DAL WR

2. Spiller, C.J. BUF RB

3. Mathews, Ryan SDC RB

4. Best, Jahvid DET RB

5. Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR

6. Benn, Arrelious TBB WR

7. Tate, Golden SEA WR

8. Tate, Ben HOU RB

9. Hardesty, Montario CLE RB

10.Bradford, Sam STL QB

11. Gresham, Jermaine CIN TE

12. Clausen, Jimmy CAR QB

13 Gerhart, Toby MIN RB

Which players are not listed that should come off the board in the next 5 to 10 picks? Who is missing?

McCluster - will he be this years Harvin? A little bit of just about everything?

If a rookie draft I am taking it we are talking a dynasty format - if that is the case:

Tebow and McCoy would have to be considered by teams needing QB help

Jonathan Dwyer and LeGarrette Blount may be better RB gambles than some of the players selected ahead of them

Damian Williams, Brandon LaFell, Emmanuel Sanders find themselves in situations where they may be called upon relatively quickly

Mike Williams, Mardy Gilyard, Jonathan Dwyer would be the guys I'd target later, I really think this class sucks bigtime after 4. Thomas/Benn I like slightly over everyone below but would put the 3 I stated more or less right on board with 7 and beyond.

I'd target any one of about 8 or so WR prospects before I'd ever take either Dwyer or Gerhart off the board. Gerhart in particular couldn't have gone to a worse situation for fantasy purposes though Dwyer's isn't all that much better. Unless you are the ADP or Mendy owner I have no idea why you would possibly take either with a 1st round or even early to mid second round choice. I'm looking for potential starters at those spots....not drafting to hope for an injury. ADP is not losing his job long term to Gerhart, Mendy is likely not going to lose his long term to Dwyer either.

I guess in general I agree, there seems to be a decent amount of guys to roll the dice on in the 2nd and 3rd rounds- but for the most part this is a pretty unappealing draft particularly after the first 4 or so choices.

Definately Lafell and McCluster

Others I like in that range...

McKnight - can he be everything Washington was supposed to be?

Mike Williams - stud skills - only character kept his stock down

Marty Giliard - seems more of a slot guy but that doesn't mean he can't be productive

Decker - probably fills a long term role as a solid possession receiver with some play making upside

Briscoe and Shipley - Shipley the next Housh? Briscoe the play maker to ease in as 85 declines? Does it matter if Palmer never becomes good again? lol

Charles Scott - McCoy seems to be lacking stud running skills. He might be slated for a strict receiving role.

Jame Starks - very productive runner with great receiving skills. A little tall for a RB but could put on a few pounds and unseat Grant sooner than later

Dixon - Probably only spells Gore until Gore gets injured. Gore is 27 at start of season... he wont last forever.

Dwyer - you know

Taylor Price - can he be the one? Lots of options still in his way to being a stud, but he definately has some skills and Brandon Tate can't seem to get on the field.

Emmanual Sanders - this guy could be a super sleeper. I barely heard of him before the draft. Pit loves him though and he seems to be sort of in the mold of Ward. Ward won't last forver.

Thats a handful of guys that I like in the 2nd. I personally hope that Williams slides to me at 2.08.

:P My favorites are bolded.

Mike Williams, Damian Williams, Dexter McCluster, Emmanuel Sanders. There's plenty of good talent here. They may not be #1 WRs in the near future, but they all have potential to be strong WR2/3s on your fantasy team.
