Who turns their season around faster? (1 Viewer)

Two QB's that everybody expected some better numbers from. Through two weeks, they have both underperformed. Bulger and CPEPP both have serious issues with their O-Line. Both teams in my opinion have studs in their offense. Both CPEPP and Bulgar are learning new offensive systems. I think CPEPP turns it around faster simply because of an easier schedule. Bulgar seems to be having a hard time learning the new offense.

Thoughts??

I wish Culpepper would visit St Louis, and that he and Bulger would hold hands while jumping off the Gateway Arch together.

As an owner of both Torry Holt and Chris Chambers, I have watched a lot of the Vikes and Dolphins games.

I don't think that Bulger looks bad. I think that the offense, as a whole, is adjusting to the new scheme. I think that the Rams, and Bulger in particular, will be fine.

Culpepper, on the other hand, looks terrible. He doesn't seem to have confidence when planting his feet for the throw, and his decisions have been terrible.

To me, Culpepper doesn't even look like an NFL starter anymore.

this is one of the best disguised "Who do I keep/trade for" posts I have seen. Well done.

I think Bulger turns it around, which is unfortunate as I have Culpepper as my QB. :wall:

Bulger will improve first. If he doesn't I'm screwed.

Seriously though, both are in similar situations. Both have good RBs, good first and second receiving options. Both have questionable OLines.

IMO Bulger's issues are 90% related to him learning the new offense and getting comfortable. He has proven that he is accurate and at least capable at reading defenses.

Culpepper on the other hand seems to have issues in learning to play with limited mobility. I am also not certain that he's not still a little scared of getting hurt (not saying that I blame him, just that he's clearly not comfortable). Also, last week a poster posted a link to an article pointing out that CPep was not strong at making reads and adjustments. Finally, Pep has really only had success while playing with Randy Moss. Chambers is good, but so far he's no Moss.

On the other hand, I lime Miami's schedule better.

Still, I'd have to say that I expect Bulger to play well in the second half of the season. Both probably end up somewhere between QB5-15, but I see Bulger as more consistent and Pepper with more fits and starts, big swings in FF output. I would say that Bulger probably finishes ahead of Bulger, though it could be by a lot or maybe just a little.

Bulger is the better bet I think.

They're both in new systems, but Culpepper is:

1) Coming back from a major injury

2) Seems to be playing scared

3) Is new to the team (lacking chemistry and experience that bulger/holt/bruce may have with each other)

4) has Mike Mularky shaping his offense (vs. Linehan for Bulger)

No "none of the above" option?
Wow, that's harsh Yudkin considering you had Bulgar in your top 10 at the beginning of the season?
:own3d:
I suppose everything is relative. In a standard scoring league (which admittedly is not all that standard anymore), C-Pep is currently ranked 22nd and Bulger 24th.I did have Bulger ranked 10th, but just barely ahead of about a half dozen other QB. (I think at one point I had him lower than that.) While I still think he could be above average, I do not see him ranking in the Top 3-5 in ppg like other seasons. So my comments on "none of the above" were for those thinking that either of these two would get back to elite status lke they were in the past.I was really not that big a fan on Culpepper heading into the year. I think part of it is I am leary of guys trying to return from injury while learning a new offense. In Culpepper's case, he also is working with an entire new team. Rushing yards down plus turnovers up plus linging injury concerns does not equal a great 2006 IMO.The problem for STL is that without the Martz offense, there was a great chance that they would lose a fair amount of passing yardage. I thought the tradeoff might be for a few more passing TD, but for now that hasn't happened yet. Before people go out and jump off a cliff, IMO there are many QB in the same situation (good be good one week and bomb the next) that they both still may be playable but the days of automatically writing their name in the lineup may be gone (at least for this year). They may both do better in the second half of the year once they "get" the offense, but I do not see either of them turning into Peyton Manning anytime soon. Certainly both still have to be considered injury risks to a certain extent, and that's another factor to consider.

Vikings games????Man your not even watching the right QB. No wonder you think Bulger is doing good that is Brad Johnson you see at QB. :)

:lmao: Yeah, Yeah, whatever.

Bulger

Mike Martz Jr. is going to let him throw the ball 30 times a game which will allow him to eventually post respectable numbers.

Miami on the other hand is committed to the run like St. Louis should be. This will limit Culpeppers chances (not a bad thing b/c he looks bad!).

By the end of the season Bulger will be the QB with the better numbers.

Finally, Pep has really only had success while playing with Randy Moss.
He played his best without Moss. I still believe in CPepp. He hasn't looked good, but the team's he's played have been far better than what Bulger has faced. He has better receiving depth than Bulger, and a better TE. Neither line is doing it's job, but I have to believe Sabans scheme will get it straight first, and I believe CPepp to simply be better.
