Who will be the best back for the Jets? (1 Viewer)

After Barlow got the TD run and the yardage was almost identical for the two backs between Barlow and Blaylock.

Any insights as to who will be the better fantasy guy this year?

I say Barlow also. Guy hasn't had a chance to learn the whole playbook so that's keeping him out of some plays. I think he will be the full-time starter by week 4 or so.

Barlow owner looking at this thru Kevan-colored glasses, but...

From what I saw on Sunday, Blaylock has no business getting 20+ touches in an NFL game. He's just not good. It'd be like if the Pats decided to make Kevin Faulk their feature back.

Barlow wasn't amazing, but he showed more than Blaylock for sure. Esp. getting the ball inside the ten.

I agree that Barlow will get first crack at being the workhorse.

But if he looks anything like he did last year as opposed to the guy that took over from Hearst, don't be surprised to see Leon Washington or Houston get a shot.

The 6 yard run Barlow had to get to the 1 yard line was an impressive, powerful run. Much more impressive than the TD itself.

I wonder if Barlow will get his first shot at carrying the load this Sunday against New England.

IMO a team doesnt trade for a player on the eve of the season if you have faith in what you got already. Barlow is their most talented back, although that isnt saying much. Once he learns the playbook and they feel they can trust him to keep Pennington upright on pass protection he becomes the man. If he performs moderatley well he keeps the job.

If he fails miserable, they take a chance on Washington and Houston and draft Adrian Peterson next year.

Blylock is a solid 3DB and spot starter. He isnt a full time guy.
