Assume they are in comparable situations (don't consider things like offensive line, surrounding talent, system, etc..) -- based on pure football skills / talent....
Who would you rather have as a 3rd down back / H-Back / Slot reciever??
Very insightful, thanks. Slaton may be undersized but I think he could develop into a Brian Westbrook type player. I'm not sure why you would say he is not an NFL caliber player??? The guy has great speed and vision, works well in space and does a great job setting up his blockers. He may not get many yards after contact but he can explode through a hole and use his down field blocking, speed and agility once he gets to the second level. My $ is on Slaton.

I've gone in depth regarding Slaton in the past. He looked like he lost a step in 07, that burst we saw as an underclassmen was not there this year. For being a supposed weapon in the passing game he cannot pass block for the life of him. His weakness between the tackles is well documented and yards after contact is non existant. All that and I always have reservations about a guy who played in college with a mobile QB, same reason why I can't justify J Stew or Mendenhall over McFadden. Yea, he's great in the open field, but he's not going to be seeing holes like he did in college. I think he could be a fine returner in the NFL, but little more.
I just saw a mock draft that had Slaton going to Denver in the 4th round. If the Broncos take him in the 4th, or even the 5th, would he then become a possible 1st round rookie pick in dynasty leagues?
When Bell was doing well for the Broncos last year he was being taken pretty high in rookie drafts that were being drafted pretty late. So if Shanny selects a RB in the actual draft (and not a rookie free agent), could he have significant value?

WOW, that is a good question. I'd say that many would bite on a player like him in that situation...say late 1st, early 2nd.I voted for Slaton regardless of the situation, but I've liked him for sometime.
I think Slaton would be terrible in Denver. To tell you the truth, even to the point that I'd be stunned if they even considered him. The only time I've seen him have any success are stretch plays (kind of like DeAngelo Williams)
