Just curious on the shark pool's take on a few fluid backfield situations. San Fran isn't quite as fluid since it's Gore's as long as he remains healthy, but I'm beginning to sense the end from a health standpoint so I included that one as well.

No words yet?

OK, I voted Starks, Carter, and Gore.

I think Starks becomes the starter in 2011 but enters the 2012 season as the starter. Have always thought he was more than a "6th round back" the same way Blount was more than an undrafted FA. Ryan Grant takes a huge discount and provides valuable back-up role in GB or moves on, but has same role. Alex Green provides explosive change of pace role and allows for deceptive two back formations.

I don't believe Addai is retained. So, it comes down to whether Brown or Carter becomes the man in 2012 (I purposely didn't list other, but that of course is an opportunity across the board). I was high on Brown coming out, but has been completely unable to win any business in a winnable backfield. With Indy turning to limited role players like J.James, etc to get the job done, I think Brown is in danger of not working out the final year in his deal. Carter becomes workhorse runner they haven't had since the elder James' heyday. Possible COP back signed this year or next to provide explosive plays.

Gore's health is the x-factor here, but I think Harbaugh uses Dixon in a closing role and Hunter in a COP/backup role allowing the niners to wrangle another couple years from Gore (specifically come playoff time).

Don't know why SF is on here. Gore is an entirely different animal than any of these other players, and is locked in on the starting gig. The other two teams seem up to grabs (I voted Brown and Grant, but don't feel confident about either really), but SF is a strange choice to me as there is zero chance anyone other than Gore will be the biggest producer in SF if healthy (but you can use health for every single team in the league).

Starks, Carter, and Gore for me as well.

Grant I think is the lead carrier this season, but that he is not as effective as he has been in the past, leading to Starks taking the role in 2012.

Addai I do see coming back to the Colts, but breaking down or also being ineffective this season. I do not like Brown, so I gave it to Carter by default.

Gore I just see going strong for at least 2 more seasons, which would include 2012. After that, I don't know.

True, just noticed they had drafted 3 RBs in the past three drafts. While Coffee bailing can't necessarily be predicted, I thought there were enough similarities that it was worth including. Gore is in the last year of his deal. I'm sure the niners will be looking to re-sign him, but how healthy is he? They ought to know best, so I think his next deal will be interesting.I think it's interesting that all three guys are either in the last year of their deal or have played through their deal and so far the consensus is they all will remain with their teams. I guess contracts aren't a big deal to teams, as they can generally cut bait on them when they want to.

Where's the option for "no one will have fantasy relevance"? Cuz that's what I'd choose for the first two options (except in very deep leagues).

Starks carter n gore for me all though I think I would have picked other in san frans backfield with gore history n miles ,still undecided on hunter ,, I believe carter will be an asset in indy because of his pass protection alone, I believe starks showed us in the playoffs he's more effective than grant although they seem to share the injury bug

Agree with the first 2 but can't see Gore going 2 more seasons. Busted hip and 30th birthday loom, just too much to overcome. Voted Dixon but I could see Hunter leapfrogging him.JMO of course.

Starks in 2012 - Grant in 2011

Addai in 2011 - Split between Addai and Carter in 2012

Gore in 2011 - Gore in 2012 or someone not listed. It won't be one of the other two choices listed. They are roster filler not starters.

Well we can scratch Dixon on this news.

My link

This actually clarifies things a little.

I didn't notice the poll said 2012. I voted for Starks, Brown and Gore. The only one I would change is Gore, I think this is his last season as a starter. I would vote for Hunter instead.
