Here's a few:Stokley will be this year's Coles. Many are expecting big things again. I wouldn't be surprised if Troy Walters ends up with as many touchdowns.

I think J.Jones will dissapoint alot of owners, too. He'll be ok, but not teh top 5 or 6 back people are bragging him up to be. Dallas will be trailing often, limiting his second half carries, plus, I'm not sold on his durability.

I think that Steve Smith will turn into a top three receiver this year.

I think that Ahman Green may be the veteran back that many are saying is in decline, but has a great year.

I'll give your silly game a shot:1.Ahman Green2.McGahee3.(don't really see the difference between this and #1) F Taylor4. R Brown5.(MM had a ton of good season before last year. I think your description is a bit off) S Moss6. K Curtis7. M Jones8.D Mason9. H Ward10. J Harrington

1. Curtis Martin (that one's a softball)2. Willis McGahee (this is common sentiment for good reason, defenses will force losman to beat them and focus on mcgahee3. Mike Anderson (another softball)4. Cedric Benson (he's behind the best line and on the team with the best defense with an OC that wants to play ball control football)5. Antonio Bryant (fits the description to a T)6. Arnaz Battle (will be the #1 target while EJ ails)7. Mark Clayton (another softball)8. Marvin Harrison (another top 5 finish)9. Andre Johnson (Houston's only weapon, will be double covered all year)10. Eli Manning (once he's over the elbow injury)

Amani Toomer
good call there, forgot about him. he will get to match up against #2 CBs for the first time in a long long time. he has also said he was limited by hammy problems most of last year that he is now over.

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

I'll say...Curtis Martin!

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Willis McGahee

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Mike Anderson

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Cadillac Williams

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Chris Chambers (he has the potential to fit the bill...but his QB situation sucks and I couldn't think of another one off the top of my head.

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

T. Taylor

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Matt Jones

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Rod Smith

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Javon Walker

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Matt Hasselbech

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year) Curtis Martin (again)

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing) Suggs

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value) M Faulk

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact) JJ

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential) Bennett

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way) steve smith

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact) william (det or min)

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done) Issac Bruce

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back) Burleson

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward) Harrington or Carr

1. veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year

Fred Taylor - Most folks think he's done, but he proved healthy in the last preseason game. The Jags should be a playoff team and Greg Jones, Toefield and Pearman are all bums. Expect Taylor to have a nice year.

2. young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing

Stephen Jackson - I suppose its too late to say Tatum Bell. Let's make him a runner up. I've seen folks talk about Jackson having a 1500 yard season. Nonsense. Faulk will get too many carries and the Rams will struggle in enough games to make Jackson finish middle of the pack at best.

3. vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value

Drew Bledsoe - If Vinny Testaverde can throw for 3500 yards, no reason to think Bledsoe can't do the same. Per Antsports mocks, he's the 27th QB off the board in 12 team leagues. That's nice value.

4. rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact

Cadillac Williams - By a wide margin. Meet this year's version of Ladian Tomlinson. Cadillac is going to be a star right out of the gate. JJ Arringotn gets an honorable mention here. I predict Ronnie Brown and Benson will disappoint in 05.

5. WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential

Reggie Williams - I say this partially because I'm his agent :D , Reggie makes folks folks remember why he was drafted so high last year.

6. WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way

Arnaz Battle - This guy is going undrafted in most leagues, but 1) Is the starting "Z" receiver on the Niners, the featured receiver in that offense, 2) Has drawn comparisons to Anquan Boldin, 3) Is a big, physical WR at 6'1, 220 and 4) Has been tearing it up in the preseason

7. Rookie WR who makes a significant impact

Mark Clayton and Braylon Edwards - Rookies making an impact are all about getting playing time. I'll take the two rookies most likely to see the most targets.

8. veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done

Rod Smith - All this guy does is produce every year.

9. WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back

Derrick Mason - With an ADP of WR30, he's still getting drafted like he never left Tennessee. Playing in a run-first offense with a struggling QB is going to make his numbers take a big dip.

10. QB who takes a big step forward

Joey Harrington - After the MNF preseason games, most folks are running screaming away from Joey, but I think he realizes his potential and threatens to become a top 10 QB.

Martin / Marshall Faulk to a lesser extent

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

I don't see any to the same extent, but Lamont Jordan

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Amani Toomer

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Sproles (you didn't say FF impact ;) ), Caddy

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Travis Taylor, Charles Rogers

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Taylor (maybe not under the radar)

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Braylon Edwards, Matt Jones

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Keyshawn

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Burleson

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Tim Rattay, Joey Harrington, Carson Palmer

Great Post - enjoyed reading the various replies

1. Veteran RB who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year

Fred Taylor - He has really dropped to a value pick and since he showed to be healthy in the last preseason game, I expect him to be the key in a progressing offense. I expect great yardage and more TDs than most. Say 1200 rush, 350 receiving, and 9 TDs.

2. Young RB who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing

Stephen Jackson - I think that Marshall plays a bigger role than most expect. I see a 65/35 split and there will atill be games where the Rams totally abandon the run.

3. Vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value - Amani Toomer. I think that Eli Manning improves significantly and Toomer, always reliable, gets single coverage and rebounds back to an 1000 plus and 6 or more TDs.

4. Rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact - JJ Arrington, simply by opportunity. I think Cadillac shares time with Pittman and Alstott gets some. Brown and the Raster both struggle in Miami as they abanson the run. C Benson woould have been my pick but he is behind and the Bears have no QB.

5. WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential

Chris Chambers - Miami is forced to develop the passing game as they trail early and often, similar to New Orleans last year. Chambers and Frerotte come through somewhat.

6. WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way

Justin McCareins - Very quiet pre-season as most folks focus on Coles nad Pennington's shoulder. But, I think Penny will be ok and McCareins becomes the red-zone target. Hoping for 1000 yards and will be 9 or 10 TDs.

7. Rookie WR who makes a significant impact -

Mark Clayton - Rookies making an impact are all about opportunity. Clayton seizes his opportunity. I'll add a homer selection of Matt Jones as he continues to succeed with his tremendous skills, but not sure if he gets the opportunities needed.

8. Veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done

Rod Smith - Again.

9. WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back

Derrick Mason - With Boller running the show, he's set up for disappointment.

10. QB who takes a big step forward - Joey Harrington - I think that he has the means needed, the receivers and the skill set. Somehow, with Garcia removed form the picture, he gets it between the ears and flourishes. Starting against GB will give his confidence a boost.

Great post.

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

CMart - No reason to think the Jets won't lean on him again.

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

McGahee - I believe he will have a very good season, but not worthy of his ADP.

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

CMart - He wound up a great value pick in all of my drafts this year.

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Cedric Benson - Not that he's the rookie back I'm most impressed with so far. Brandon Jacobs is a beast, however for him to have a significant impact it would call for an injury to Tiki Barber, and I don't bet on those.

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Nate Burleson - This kid is special once he catches the ball. He'll hook on to CPepp's rising star and have a special season.

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Arnaz Battle - I'm probably jinxing the guy, but he's a great pickup if you've got the space. Great schedule, QB is locked into him and he has shown a lot of skill this preseason. Think of how Eric Johnson thrived with Rattay under center. Well for now this guy replaces Johnson in the pecking order...

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Braylon Edwards - There aren't many rookie WRs in position to make an impact. Clayton and Bradley may wind up starting, but I'm not sure of either of the guys passing to them.

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Kennison/R Smith

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Andre Johnson - I echo the opinions of most of the posts regarding this kid so far. Special athlete on the wrong team. He'll never reach his potential in this offense.

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Tim Rattay - This may be the biggest reach I have submitted so far. But he fits the mold of the situation of Drew Brees last year. Second string QB who holds his spot despite a highly rated first round rookie QB drafted as the savior for a team. I go back to the EASY schedule the 49ers have this year. Not easy in they will win a lot, but easy in the fact that all the defenses in this division are pretty lousy and there will be shootouts aplenty.

Was looking back at this thread and thought it was worth a bump. Some really good picks in here. Just wish I would've followed some of the advice in here on Andre Johnson.

Some bad picks too! lol

I'll give it a shot at 2006!

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

T. Barber

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Clinton Portis

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

F. Taylor, C.Martin

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Lendale White

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Roy Williams

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Drew Givens

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Santanio Holmes

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Issac Bruce/Eddie Kennison lol

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Randy Moss (3 years running)

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Eli Manning 2005, Kitna 2006

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Some good predictions here. Burleson, AJ, Drew Bennett, and Javon Walker. I would mark them all correct.

P.Burress - I think people figure the Giants out a bit this year.

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Wow. I suck. :bag: 4 and 1/3 for #10. :bag:

I'll play along, but will adjust as the year gets closer.

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Warrick Dunn, Dillon

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Chester Tayor I guess, not real sure here. I mean, "turn into a stud" and "regress" limit the pool.

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Steve McNair

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

DeAngelo Williams But this is way early here

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Roddy White

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Cedrick Wilson IF the Steelers don't draft a WR

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Santonio Holmes

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Keyshawn, Randy Moss

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Roy Williams

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Jason Campbell or if just FF, Big Ben

ETA: this would be a bit easier if we weren't limited by position, and assuming every year has the same results. For example, instead of Barlow requiring a RB, it could be a QB like Boller or Rivers. Sane with "Coles" and the rookie, instead of WR, I'd list Vernon Davis.

Can a mod just make the 2006 version a new thread? I didn't think of it

I'll play!

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

I am not sure Tiki Barber falls into this category yet. Jamal Lewis is another name that jumps to mind.

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Willis McGahee

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Corey Dillon (perhaps Duce Staley or Michael Pittman)

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Lendale White

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Andre Johnson and Koren Robinson (maybe Lelie too)

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Koren Robinson again (maybe Givens too)

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

somebody not taken in the first round...

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Rod Smith

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Santana Moss and Donte Stallworth

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Carr, Boller and some guy named Vick

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Warrick Dunn

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Willie Parker

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Ahman Green

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

DeAngelo Williams

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Andre Johnson

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Jabar Gaffney

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Rod Smith

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Antonio Bryant

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

David Carr/ Jon Kitna

Well let's get a 2006 version going:

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Corey Dillon

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Willis MaGahee again

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Ron Dayne

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Reggie Bush but too early to tell who does Denver or Indianapoils draft

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Koren Robinson

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Kevin Curtis

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Derek Hagan

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Rod Smith

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

TO

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Chris Simms

I'll play for 2006:

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Right here, I gotta go with Corey Dillion. I think he's got one more good year left in his tank, and most people don't realize he played injured most of last season.

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

This is a tough one. If the Colts don't draft a round one RB, I could see all sorts of people on the Dominic Rhodes bandwagon, and him not panning out.

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

This is where I go with Curtis Martin. He's not getting it done like he used too, but he still has some significant value and will be there later in the draft.

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

To early to tell. Depends on who goes to what team. I will say that if Reggie Bush goes to Houston, his actual redraft value will be much lower than where he is drafted.

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

I'm going to go with Roy Williams here. I think we've only scratched the surface with what he is capable of. With Harrington gone, he's got the potential to really explode.

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

I'm gonna go out on a big limb here and suggest Bryant Johnson from the Cards. If an injury strikes on of the top two WRs there, look for him to do a superb job filling in.

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

None of these guys this year will produce at that level

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

This years Isaac Bruce is once again Isaac Bruce

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Once again, its Andre Johnson

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

John Kitna :bag:

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Koren Robinson
I really like this thought. I'd forgotten about him. He could be a great sleeper.

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

John Kitna :bag:
10. I read a very good article about Kitna on ESPN insider written by "The football scientist", in it he details the how Kitna is not a good QB and makes to many bad decisions. I think Holmgren knew what he was going in Seattle when he choice Matt Hasselbeck instead of him.

He was pretty good fantasy wise a few years ago in Cincy. No reason why he couldn't step it up this season. If you remember Drew Brees a few season ago, many, many sports writers were saying he couldn't hack it as an NFL QB.

I will get mine in earlier so it doesn't look like I am stealing other peoples' answers.

1. Curtis Martin (veteran rb who people keep expecting to slow down but has a great year)

Warrick Dunn

2. Kevan Barlow (young rb who many people except to turn into a stud, but ends up regressing)

Frank Gore

3. Emmit Smith/Jerome Bettis (vet who many people write off but ends up being a great value)

Ricky Williams

4. Kevin Jones (rookie RB who makes a siginificant impact)

Laurence Maroney

5. Mushin Muhammad (WR who takes a huge step forward and finally realizes his potential)

Roy Williams

6. Brandon Stokley (WR who is under the radar but ends up contributing in a big way)

Bernard Berrian

7. Roy Williams/Michael Clayton/Lee Evans (Rookie WR who makes a significant impact)

Santonio Holmes

8. Isaac Bruce/Eddie Kennison (veteran WR who once again proves that he's not done)

Joey Galloway & Randy Moss

9. Laveranues Coles (WR who people hoped would be a #1, but ended up taking a big step back)

Chris Chambers (Will Cpep be healthy in September?)

10. Drew Brees (QB who takes a big step forward)

Chris Simms

Edited: changed ans #1 from Jamal Lewis to Warrick Dunn

Now, if I had to choose between the two, I take Hass over Kitna every time but if I have Kitna VS Harrington or Jeff garcia, not even close.I have argued this myself a lot here. Kitna is not a great QB but he is a good QB. Mike Martz is good at one thing, ok, two, 1. Looking like he is thinking really hard about something and then making the wrong choice and 2nd he is a quarterback wizard. He can take an average guy like Kitna and turn him into....say.....Marc Bulger. I think Kitna will have his best seasons under Martz.

Great picks. I love almost every one of them. I think Chris Simms is a bum but I thought Drew Brees was a bum too. Maybe he will change my mind. I do disagree with the Chris Chambers pick as well. I think Chambers is on the cusps of being an absolute star.

Love the R. Williams and Bernard Berrian picks.

Actually I like Chambers too. I just don't know if Cpep will be healthy enough to start the season. If he is, will he be initially successfull with a new playbook and new players.

It won't be a new playbook. Miama is going to stick with Linehan's offense. That was the same O in Minnesota....

My bad.... Roy Williams. I do think Ricky will have another solid season if he can win his appeal. Both Longhorn guys so I am a fan.

True but Chambers had a decent season with Frerotte back there, can't get much worse.....

I thought Saban and Lineham didn’t really see eye to eye on the play calling so I assumed it would be a new playbook. I guess it could just mean that the plays don’t change just how often, when, and where they get called.

There was just something in the Blogger about Miama keeping the Linehan system intact for 2006. Getting Daunte probably had something to do with that. As for the play calling, that's another matter. I don't really know where that stands....
