Who will be this year's Willis McGahee? (1 Viewer)

Joe T

I'm looking for the guy who will be WAY over rated early in the year... where the facts don't support his lofty ranking? I'm looking for a guy that will be drafted in the early to mid-first round where his actual value is something of a mid-to-late second rounder.

btw - when do early season rankings come out so we can find this guy?

Probably will have to... since I figured out the McGahee error last year.

How many McGahee bashing threads are you going to start?

RB Willis McGahee is STILL Overrated, ***OFFICIAL THREAD***

This guy is trying as hard as he can to bring down McGhee's value. He must be picking in the last first round in a draft somewhere or wanting to trade for him.McGahee IMHO is a top talent I have him bunched with Tiki, Rudi and Edge in redrafts and maybe a bit higher in Dynasty format.

No kidding.Did you ever get those child custody issues worked out with Willis, Mrs. McGah-, um, Joe?

Tiki Barber. 31 year old coming off of a career season and people are banking on him to repeat it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just like they banked on him to repeat it the last two years.Edit: Er. Um. I mean, I think you're right. I wouldn't take this guy until the third round at the earliest.

With the departure of Ricky, Ronnie will get way over-hyped this summer. (redraft, that is)

Oh, and also Reggie Bush; although I don't think he'll get overvalued into the 1st round. Still, he'll go before he ought to.

JoeT: It will be Tiki Barber.

All of the lemmings have avoid drafting him for years and now that they have seen year after year that he outperforms his draft status, he is 31 years old and is primed to not live up to his mid first round potential.

The herd is running towards Tiki. Time to move away.

Kevin Jones is also being drafted in the 2nd round. That makes me :lmao:

Actually, Tiki wasnt drafted nearly as high the past two seasons. Two years ago he was like a third round pick. People bank after the fact, not before it.

I agree here also. People are picking him like he's still in Indy.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Good one.My vote would be Chad Johnson. He kind of disappeared last half of last year and even if Palmer starts week 1 (doubtful), he won't be full strength until mid-season.

Another would be Steve Smith. He'll still put up big numbers, but with a viable 32 on board, those numbers will be reduced.

 Last year he went late first / early second. This year is higher.

Yes I would think that in a redraft him and McGahee would have the same value; remember Tiki is very durable and early in his career he shared carries - in his first three yars in the league he had 136,52, and 62 carries. Those legs are not that old yet.

For those mentioning Tiki Barber...At least he has the proper credentials to be taken as the 4th-6th RB off the board. Same for Edge.

McGahee had no such credentials last season at this time to be RB5.

So far, the top 10 RBs based on ADP all have credentials for where they belong. I thought McAllister was WAY high as RB11-13 but with the Bush draft, his value will plummet accordingly.

I still think McGahee is high at RB12, but it's plausible he could finish around there, and even if he misses slightly, it's not nearly a drop from 12 to 16 as it is from 5 to 12.

Ronnie Brown

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This is an interesting one. I'd like to see where Brown is going, but he may indeed be too high.

Another guy that will be terribly overrated is Willie Parker.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Seems underrated as RB24 right now.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Really? I haven't seen any rankings. If that's where he's at, that seems about right. I thought he may be ranked among the top 15 or so.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Just basing it off mock drafts. No real rankings to go off yet, but with Pitt not taking a RB until round 7, I'd expect his draft stock to raise quite a bit. Top 15 doesn't seem so awful for a FWP ranking. His first full year of action he ranked 15th and got vultured like crazy.

For TE mandatory leagues, Antonio Gates comes to mind.

Granted, he should still be among, if not, the leading TE, but I don't expect him to approach the numbers he put up last year. Or at least not to warrant the value many people may assign to him.

Safety valve or not, I expect there to be at least a slight dropoff from Brees to Rivers. Nothing more than a gut feeling though.

So a guy who finished the year at 4th in rushing TDs and did not play the full season had no reson to be ranked in the top 5-10? :loco: Oh and yeah, it is certainly "plausible" for Willis to finish in the top 12 RBs. Or did you foget that among his bust of a season last year he was still RB13?

None whatsoever given all the data entering the 2005 season. Big deal, he scored an excessive amount of TDs given his workload. You fell victim to this:

That's why I said it was plausible for him to finish 12th. When did I say he busted as RB13? Get your stuff in order.

Joe T,

I was actually quite serious when I asked you how many more McGahee bashing threads do you plan on starting?

Including this one along with these....

....you're at 4.

How many more should we expect from you?

He's not bashing McGahee in this thread.

Read the thread title along with the 1st post.

I would be very careful with Edge and LT this upcoiming year in redraft leagues

They may not bust like Mcgahee last year, but their surrounding talent (OL for Edge & QB for LT), have me worried.

With LT, they will not be in the redzone a lot since Rivers will not be able to deliver on 3rd downs like Brees could. And even when they are in the redzone, teams will focus a lot more on LT.

Perhaps, but LT delivered when Flutie was back there and Brees hadn't come into his own yet. He'll still get his - or so I hope.

Add Julius Jones to the list.

So far I have:

- Tiki Barber

- Julius Jones

- Kevin Jones

All three are going to be drafted in the second round or earlier and will have HORRIBLE value.
