This thing sort of seems like it was made for a guy like Prince. I may put a few bucks on him actually.

Used to love this event, but it really drags on now and I can't usually keep interest for more than 20 minutes or so. Especially with Berman just killing any inclination I have to watch with his tired shtick.

I put a small (and I mean small) bet on Prince at 3-1. This is too stupid of an event to go crazy on.

What a dud of a HR derby. Also, further proof that the balls for the HR Derby @ Comerica were juiced. I love the announcers saying how big Pac Bell is and how its such a different park then Comerica....yeah, Comerica is much, much larger.

Put a buck on Fielder as well (+295). Tried to add Vlad in there at a nice price but got shutout.

We'll see...
 :D :) Mother####er, does that suck. He was 8 - 1. What's worse, is I went to call it in as the contest hadn't come close to actually starting, but when I turned my phone on, it shut down (out of batteries). Even went to charge it briefly, but was too late.

Big mistake. I hate that.

AT&T

Something to remember when wagering on this in the future: fat guys can't win it, you really do have to be in decent shape to win in this format.

I honestly don't know how somebody could sit through all 3 hours of that. ####ing painful, I didn't last 15 minutes.

I went to an Independent League game last night (North Shore vs. Sussex.) Free tickets, great food, real nice little park and a great game to watch. Attendance was announced at 1,100 or so. The home pitcher went 9, threw about a million pitches, and got the CG SO. Our Governor even showed up for a few innings.Anyway, I was sitting next to a team sponsor and he said he personally handed out over 180 tickets for the game, yet only about 30 showed. He kept hearing that guys wanted to stay home to watch the derby instead. :wtf:

While I agree that the balls in Detroit were juiced (a Red Sox trainer said he felt they were when he was pitching to Ortiz before the contest)...
Park Factor - Through Monday, July 9, 2007

Rank / Name (Location) / Overall PF / HR PF

#13 Comerica Park (Detroit, Michigan) 1.017 1.137

#19 AT&T Park (San Francisco, California) 0.946 0.644

In fact, AT&T has been the worst park for homeruns in baseball this year by a wide margin, the same as last year.

see for yourself
