Who's better to snag on waivers between (1 Viewer)

Ahmad Bradshaw and LeRon McClain???

Both players looked good in the 1 game they've had carries but both against pitiful defenses. Giants are an offensive team that runs the ball a lot and will get plenty of scoring opportunities. Baltimore is just the opposite and with a rookie QB at helm.

However, Bradshaw won't get enough carries to care who he is as long as Jacobs and Ward are in town and nothing will change unless there's an injury. McClain has McGahee and Rice to compete with but there seems to be a bad relationship between McGahee and Baltimore that will probably sooner or later lead to his demise on the team. Rice, I've heard, hasn't shown enough to warrant anything for him just yet. McClain is a BIG dude at 6'0" 220 lbs and seems like a lock for goalline duties and maybe more if he shows himself.

Who's the best for a pickup?

This probably belongs in the assistant coaches forum but I'll play along.

Since this is a Dynasty league you have to go with Bradshaw here. Yes he has Jacobs and Ward ahead of him but Ward only signed a 1 year deal in the off season and Jacobs has yet to get a contract extension. So there are several scenarios that play out with this one...

1) Jacobs beaks out and looks for a big pay-off in the off-season. The Giants have the option of paying Jacobs big bucks or looking to Ward or Bradshaw if Jacob's demands are too high. Since both Ward and Bradshaw have performed well when Jacobs has been injured in the past, I don't think this is out of the realm of possibility if Jacobs asks for too much in an extension or a new contract. Since they just paid out the Burress extension I'm not sure how much room they'd have under the cap to pay Jacobs what he'll want but maybe then can afford it. If they do pay him then I don't think Ward stays around so Bradshaw becomes the #2 RB by default.

2) Jacobs busts or gets injured. If this happens then I think the Giants let him walk knowing they have Bradshaw and can probably extend Ward and still have a productive running game. If Jacobs can't prove he can carry the load then they probably won't break the bank to keep him

3) Jacobs performs like an average NFL RB and looks for an average contract extension. The Giants have the option of extending him with a moderate contract or they could extend Ward and run him with Bradshaw next year.
