Who's going to shoot up draft boards? (1 Viewer)

With the preseason finally here, what players are going to shoot up the draft boards?

Matt Ryan (75, QB9)

Jay Cutler (81, QB11)

Chris Wells (66, RB29)

Felix Jones (68, RB30)

Rashard Mendenhall (97, RB39)

Fred Jackson (103, RB40)

Earl Bennett (151, WR55)

Percy Harvin (102, WR40)

Devin Hester (86, WR33)

Whichever NYG receiver stands out, my guess is Nicks (135, WR48)

I think there's a good chance these guys are going to start moving up draft boards.

*Edited to add current ADP's.

Ray Rice. I am guessing that he will shoot so far up, that it would not surprise me that you will need to use a 5th round pick to acquire him by late August/early September.

Out of curiousity, why do you feel Wells/Mendenhall will shoot up the charts? I have not really heard word one about them thus far (besides Beanie getting hurt), so I actually have a feeling they may stay under-the-radar through preseason.

I think Mendenhall is going to really impress in the preseason and Fast Willie will not. I think Wells is going to be very flashy in preseason and cause him to move up draft boards, not necessarily mine. Someone is going to get the carries in this offense and I think Hightower has proved that he cannot handle it.

Michael Bush
Nice. Very solid. I really hope he doesn't move up too much.In addition:Percy Harvin (may fly up too fast)Brian Robiskie (under the radar right now)Ray Rice (as mentioned before, he will probably shoot too far up to hold real value, let someone else grab him)James Davis (although I'm hoping he will not)Kevin Walter (clear WR2 in a great offense)Brent Celek (only TE worth having in Philly)Greg Olsen (yes, even further than he already has)

Pierre Thomas...went in the middle of the 2nd round in a 16 teamer I am drafting in right now. He is going to be a 1st round pick at the rate he is flying off the board.

Ray Rice is starting to go in the 5th round of some drafts.

Ronnie Brown is creeping up too.

I can see Bernard Scott jumping up to the top of the 2nd tear of RBs if he's not there already.

I don't think he is being drafted at all right now so that would be a tremdous jump. This is the first I have herd of him. Is he the immediate backup of Benson right now?

Once Hard Knocks starts airing, you can forget about the notion of 'stealing' Palmer and 85.
 Same with Ronnie Brown. I liked him a month ago considering where his value was (somewhere in the 3rd). But I think he's too much of a risk where his value stands today (and where he will be at the end of preseason)... probably early to mid 2nd rounder.

8/6 practice roundup"... He’s been the star so far of all the rookies. He’s made the most plays and dropped the most jaws,” Carson Palmer on rookie RB Bernard Scott

A lot of people naming rookies. Could this be because of last years rookie success, this years draft class or just about opportunity?

I think a lot of it has to do with the success of the rookie RBs (Forte, Slaton, Johnson, Stewart) and fact that a person will want to try to shoot for the stars and grab a rookie that could break out and be the next fantasy star. If they see a rookie doing well in pre-season, they will definitely reach for one in the draft. The fact that Brown has the chance to overtake Addai in the Indy offense and Westbrook's injuries combined with a high powered offense makes McCoy and Brown intriguing, high ceiling picks over players like LJ, or a Ryan Grant that are in the same ranking area. Moreno is apparently going to be the every down back in Denver which is also a plus given the plethora of committees out there (although the Den offense may not be that good he will be assured the vast majority of opportunities). That's just how I see it.

And I know that this may sound trival, but Brady and Moss. I believe a lot of people have Brady at #2 or side by side with Brees, and many have Moss at #3 or #4 WR. It will only take a long TD or two in the preseason and everyone will move them both up to #1 at their positions.

Memo!!......You're already needing to use a 5th to acquire Rice

Dustin Keller will skyrocket when Sanchez falls in love with him during preseason.
I think the exact same thing of Cotchery. He can be had for cheap and is going to be the Jets for sure option 1 in pretty much all the reads and we have seen how rookie QB's lock into their option 1 ala Mason, and White last season.

The guys I am always wary of are scrub WR and RB, in a nationally televised game, early in the preseason. Everyone is so hungry for football, that everyone is watching, and everyone overreacts. So no idea who it will be, but hope it won't be guys I have been following in training camp.

I agree 100% and it blows. Cotchery is my big sleeper a la Bowe of last season...only WR worth throwing too will get a boatload of targets

These are good times to sell high on players.Last year, I had a rookie draft end around this time.Josh Morgan was not drafted. After one of his games he was traded for a 2nd RD pick in 2009.Not that he is a scrub, but yea, it can really inflate a players value.

I am looking at run oriented offenses and WR's who I think will led their respective teams in targets and receptions. Cotchery, Steve Smith the lesser, and even Hester....

Chris Henry. Dude could have a probowl year.
 as a WR3?
Doubtful he stays behind Coles.
When in doubt, follow the $$$...Coles - will make $9.7mm this year (signing bonus, roster bonus, salary)Henry - will make $900k this yearI will say this...I really like Henry's turnaround story. It sounds like he's taking his "final chance" extremely serious. If there's any #3 WR that could explode this year, it would be Henry.

It's been mentioned, but Moreno will absolutely make you drop your jaw at times. The only way you got value on this guy is if he held out longer (before your draft).
