I'm asking because there doesn't seem to be a clear choice right now. I wish I could vote for Rivers but his team has let him down.

Just missed the cut:

Ahmad Bradshaw

Tom Brady

Kyle Orton

Brandon Lloyd

Antonio Gates

Michael Vick

Darren McFadden

Chris Johnson

Hakeem Nicks

League MVP or Fantasy Football MVP?

League? - Adrian Peterson - all of this turmoil and he plays like every carry is his last. Love his game.

Fantasy - Antonio Gates - his VBD value must be off the charts right now even with missing the game yesterday.

I'm leaning towards Rivers.

He's putting up fantastic numbers while his WRs are dropping like flies, not to mention a 4 TD performance w/out Gates, Floyd, Davis, and Nanee.

Rivers...and its hard for a defensive player, but Clay Matthews is making a strong case to be in the discussion at least.

Why didnt they make the cut, especially Gates, CJ and Rivers?Love that Rodgers is even mentioned in this thread, really? If any QB Rivers, if any RB Foster, if any WR White, if any player Gates... seriously.

Rivers, Eli, AP, and Mathews all deserve discussion, but of this group only Eli is on a team with a legit shot at winning the SB, so Eli, even though it really should go to the Giants entire D-Line.

wait ppl are actually picking eli? i thought he was on there as a joke.
He's my pick at the midway point. I can't give it to Rivers when the Chargers have a losing record. Now if you're asking me to project who will win the MVP when the season is over? I would change my answer to Rivers, presuming he can keep up the momentum and lead the Chargers to a playoff berth.

No mention of Peyton Manning but plenty for Rivers?

Manning is just a 1/2 step behind Rivers in PassYd/game & TD/game, but has almost 1/2 the INT's. And Rivers has 2 more fumbles. And Manning has had just as many injuries to his WR's and has a worse defense and plays in a tougher division and has a better record.

And don't forget about the difference between what Manning does for his offense on every play vs. what Rivers does.

Peyton >> Rivers this year and every year so far.

Its like not voting for Michael Jordan every year just because he's won MVP before.

I think there's enough evidence now that you have to go Vick before Peyton, but Rivers before either, so yeah.

If the season ended today, it would not be Rivers. Extremely unlikely they would vote for a guy from a team with a losing record as MVP (or a team that would miss the playoffs). That could change if the Chargers rectify both of those things . . .

When did Wayne get hurt ?

Rodgers...lost Grant & Finley and GB continues to roll along. Rivers has been sabotoged by his teams tremendous ability to give away games on Special Teams, but he's keeping them alive.

I was voting for who I would give the MVP to. Not who I think will receive it.

Depending on if the Raiders take the AFC West, I might make a case for McFadden.

If the man didn't miss two games due to injury he could be leading the NFL in rushing. Same yds/game as Foster.

The thread asks who IS MVP. Might want to clarify if people meant "who is most deserving" . . .

I wouldn't give it to Rodgers.Last night was the first time he actually put it all together this year.He has been off this year quite a bit.

They have been comparable for sure. I would pick Rivers over Manning purely from how successful Rivers has been in spite of how much their offense is trying to lose games.Rivers: 215 comp/329 att/65.3%/2,944 yds/8.9 avg/19 TD/8 INT/102.9 RatingManning: 228 comp/351 att/65%/2,478 yds/7.1 avg/16 TD/ 4 INT/96.1 Rating

Rivers is in a landslide there. For now.

When did Wayne get hurt ?
Yes, since Wayne is the only WR on the Colts roster, unless he's injured, no other injuries matter

Peyton Manning

Eli Manning

Aaron Rogers

LaDanian Tomlinson

Arian Foster

Adrian Peterson

Roddy White

Drew Brees

Philip Rivers is not on the list? He is the 1st half MVP. The only one close is Peyton Manning.

What an awful list.

Tomlinson :goodposting:

If not for the Chargers turd of a special teams unit, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
