Why are "Power Rankings" so bogus? (1 Viewer)

Indianapolis, San Diego, New England, Denver, and Baltimore are better than every team in the NFC.

And arguably Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Kansas City might be as well.

All these so called experts that publish weekly power rankings are blind.

If you told any of the 9 teams above they were playing whoever you want to argue is the best NFC team in one week on a neutral field for all the marbles, there is no way the NFC team wins.

Why don't power rankings reflect that?

Why are they so dumb?

Is it not clear as day?

AFC is clearly supperior to the NFC. However, even against a weak schedule, Chicago has been impressive. Their point differential is the best in the NFL. I would favor the Bears over Baltimore, Denver and we will find out about the Patriots this weekend. The rest of the NFC is pretty pedestrian but the Bears can play with the AFC on a neutral field.

I'm convinced that these people only watch the marquee matchups every week, and base their opinions on highlites and stats for the rest of the teams. The two guys that come on the NFL network after the early games are awful. They are usually clueless to what really happened in the game that I just finished watching.

So...You're in the camp that says Indy wanted to lose to the Cowpokes so they won't have to deal with all the "undefeated season" nonsense the rest of the way?And that either Samari Rolle or Ed Reed had Steve Smith on their fantasy roster and just let him run wild in their secondary...At home? How did Denver fare against the ferocious St. Louis Rams?

I'd venture to say most of this year's crucial injuries have come to NFC teams. McNabb, Hasselbeck, Alexander, the Giants defense, Orlando Pace, etc.

:goodposting: The AFC is better than the NFC, but the OP is taking it a bit too far ... besides, he completely fails to mention the Bears. I, and many, believe they can play with any team in the NFL on a neutral field - at LEAST make a good game out of it.
