Why do I have to tip? (1 Viewer)

I do not eat out much but I do not understand why I have to pay for someone to put a plate of food in front of me. If the waitress wants more money she should ask for more from the owner.

If people stop tipping all the servers will he forced in to acting and the restaurant industry as we know it is finished.

Because waitresses make below minimum wage. If tipping were eraditicated then they would have to be paid more by the owners and your meal would increase in price but you wouldnt have to tip. Id prefer tipping as then you can control some of that cost and it can lead to better sevrice but thats just me.

Because tipping is a part of living in society, asking why you should tip is like asking why you should wear pants or why you should put on deodorant.

I hate the practice of tipping but always do so fairly generously, particularly at places like bars where it earns you free ####....

It's the Christian thing to do. Like, literally.

As you are probably aware, in many countries, tipping is not expected. Instead, they pay the servers more & raise the prices of their food.
